Destruction of Ayestefanos memorial prior to WW1. It's the first thing the Turks filmed, the memorial was about Russian victory, that's why we destroyed it and filmed it. I think the video is lost, but it's the first ever. So I had to mention it.

The Bride(1973) During 1960-1980 we had a very liberal constitution. So people could film basically whatever they want. Majority of movies were comedies, arabesque romantic tropes and didactic films criticizing the society.

This film is a milestone because it's a successful drama and well critique of Turkish societies important problems at the time and managed not to be simplistic and cheesy at the same time.

The Innocence (1997) This movie set a milestone for elitist Turkish cinema and deepen the gap between "folk movies" where everyone casually watches and elitist ones only reserved for certain audience.

The film has full fledged characters instead of stereotypes. The scenario, acting, usage of camera is perfect. I highly suggest you to watch this. Know that it might be too heavyweight(?) for you.

These 3 movie are the most important ones. But you can skip the first two.

If you want more suggestions I'd be more than happy to help :)

They still haven't made a proper and engaging autobiographical anime series based on Ataturks laifu. Once that is released, Turks will reach national singularity and ascend the heavens in a giant space mecha called Tengri that has a shape of a steppe horse and face of Kemal Mustafa.

The rest of us will be able to watch the ultimate masterpiece like regular and insignificant mortals, and those who order the Limited Edition will get a gemstone with Ataturks signature inscribed in it, a little bottle of saltiest sea (Aegean mixed with Greek tears) to cure any ailment (super effective against liver cirrhosis) and seeds of Izmir mountain flowers to plant and grow in your backyard.

If you think this is too good to be true, be assured, it's already in pre-production. Opening was already leaked some time ago: https://youtu.be/Tzv9CsvHoRw
