One way that the two differ quite a bit is in the action gameplay. The melee combat system in Gothic III is much more robust than that of Oblivion with different moves, button combos, and animations for each set of weapons. Gothic has the advantage in this arena being built as a third-person game, which eliminates some of the limitations of the primary first-person mode in melee fights. From what was shown, the combat is also much easier to use this time around. While we didn't get the chance to lay hands on the game, characters seemed to auto acquire targets well and animations were much smoother and directional attacking better.</blockquote><a href=http://pc.ign.com/articles/697/697758p1.html>Click here for the article</a>

I hope the Gothic 3 team takes advantage of the mistakes all throughout Oblivion, and offers up a nice alternative to play.

Actual Roleplaying advantures, what with decisions having permanent aftermath, and real live AI? And actual horses that you can mount and they wont try to mount you back? Count me IN! (Except for the last one, I'm happy with all my assumptions. I am hoping the last one to be the other way around)

Looking forward to Gothic 3, also hope to hear something about Stalker and Bioshock in the future.
On a side note I just could not help but think about Stalker and some of the screen shots I have
seen when I watched the movie Hostel... there was some scenes in the movie that just looked like
some of the stuff I have seen in the screen shots.
