The Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader alpha build has been out since December. Despite the usual griping, by most accounts it appears to be fairly decent. As we wait for the beta launch sometime later this year, Owlcat continue to publish brief lore updates and developer diary videos. The latest dev diary is about their process for designing and implementing enemy characters in the game. That includes deciding which enemy types from the Warhammer 40k universe to use in the first place, modeling and animating them, and adding visual effects and sound. This process is demonstrated in the video using the Helbrute, a psychotic Chaos Space Marine Dreadnought enemy type.
The other development updates published by Owlcat over the past several months have once again been helpfully summarized in their latest contest digest.
