Apparently JoWood Productions (publishers of the Gothic series) is "soliciting proposals from independent developers who wish to create a new Action RPG game based on one of JoWooD's established brands". According to the press release:

The publisher is focused on innovation in game design for this project, destined for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC. The Intellectual Property which will support this new game is renowned for an epic background story as well as exceptional graphics and polish.

If you're interested, follow the link to the online NDA form you'll need to sign.

Now somebody make Vault Dweller sign up.

this new game is renowned for an epic background story as well as exceptional graphics and polish.

Well, that rules out Gothic. Oh wait, they're talking about the renown of a product that doesn't fucking exist yet. Fail.

If you visit their site you'll see that they have a lot more games than Gothic. My bet is a Spellforce RPG. Spellforce was so polished my original, out of the box version didn't have a single bug. (Mainly because it wouldn't install and I had to acquire a new version...)

JoWood have been poor for support and patching games. I'd rather not see any indie developers (and especially VD) sign up with them.

Maybe they could resurrect Burntime as a PA RPG?

"PA RPG"
Well... they said they want it innovative and epic, so it's a magic&elves fantasy hack&slasher alright.

Project: Eternity Divinity: Original Sin 2
Now there's a "franchinse" that deserves some lovin'

I'm sure there's tons of features that could nicely complement the game.
Oh, I know! Turnbased combat mode like Fallout! The combat in Burntime was atrocious.
