There's a new patch for Mass Effect along with new downloadable content (that's the DLC bit in case you were confused there). <a href="http://forum.dlh.net/thread;threadid__31456.html">Here's the readme</a>:
<br>
<blockquote>Update 1.01
<br>
<br>
- added some infrastructure support for additional downloadable content
<br>
- updated the image of the Batarian race in the codex
<br>
- fixed an issue where the center channel for hardware audio wouldn't play correctly sometimes
<br>
- fixed an issue where the hardware mouse pointer would disappear when first selected
<br>
- fixed an issue where Shepard did not auto-crouch when entering cover in some places
<br>
- fixed a tool-tip indicating a game restart is needed before enabling hardware or software audio if the option was changed
<br>
- fixed an issue where ambient conversation would not be heard from rear speakers sometimes
<br>
- fixed a text string to make it clearer on how to exit a vehicle
<br>
- fixed a text string so the tool top for dragging the map is clearer in French languages builds
<br>
<br>
Mass Effect Configuration Utility
<br>
<br>
- fixed a crash running on certain multi-core AMD systems
<br>
- fixed an issue where video RAM was not being reported properly on certain cards</blockquote>
<br>
I'm glad they cleared up the confusion about exiting vehicles. You can <a href="http://www.fragland.net/downloads/MassEffect-EFIGS-101exe/16181/">download the patch from fragland here</a> and <a href="http://masseffect.bioware.com/galacticcodex/bringdownthesky_pc.html">jump through hoops to get the DLC here</a>.

Yeah apparently not telling player with big console font how to exit the vehicle was the main problem of the game.

They totally ignored the biggest bug, which was voice dialogue skipping about 1 in every 6 lines. And also sometimes losing all control of the game when entering an elevator and having to CTRL+ALT+DEL.

The DLC is pretty crappy too. I'd hate to have been one of the Xbox users who shelled out actual money for it.

Actually they deserved to pay money for it. And I'm happy they did. Stupidity must have consequences even on xbawks.

In all fairness it really wasn't clear enough. As soon as I noticed I was passing loot that obviously was meant to be picked up I spent forever trying to figure out how to pick it up before I realized the sheath button was used to get out of the vehicle... seriously. You'd think they would of had an entirely seperate key to exit/enter vehicles, you know, one that was labeled in the freaking controls?

That's because console games made you too soft. In olden days it was ok to actually try to press a button and see what it will do. Considering that in all of action games the same buttons are used - it is so damn easy to find that button. I found that button as soon as I've tried to look for it. I mean isn't it logical to think " WASD is already taken why can't I try standard 'use' buttons? E, F... Q"
Hey why just 8 years ago nobody needed a freaking HINT in 72p font to tell him what do?

My comment wasn't as much about buttons and hints though. I was surprised by how Bioware managed to not fix all other much more annoying bugs that were there.

God you're so fucking stupid, skyway. Pressing buttons randomly to find out what they do is your idea of great gameplay?
Of course it's best to explain it clearly in the menu, but there's nothing wrong with a one-time hint.

Zomg Lumpy didn't like what I wrote. How can I live now?
Ok maybe this:
- finding a one obvious button to exit the tank is not hard and it isn't a big fucking deal -

and also this:

will make you understand the thought better?

Looks like Bioware has become a willing apprentice and accomplice to EA's stonewalling support tactics so well honed and renown during its PC development history.
