Hinterland, that RPG/RTS combo thing, has been delayed a few weeks. Here's why:

Hinterland was on target to be released this Monday, the 22nd of September. However, we have decided to delay its release a week or two, so that we may implement some additional features and content to the game, many of which came from the excellent suggestions we've received from the community. We want to thank you all for your support and patience. We know this delay may be disappointing to some, but we're confident it will ultimately provide a better play experience for all.

Thank you,

Delaying a game release for some polish? Good idea. A week or two for some extra features? Extra features can't be all that good or will be poorly implemented. Time will tell.

Uhhh since when can you implement ANYTHING within a week or two?

Maybe they had axed some things and are going to finish implementing, debugging, and testing them. That could make sense, potentially. FYI nobody said Poles had to make any sense to begin with(See 'the witcher')

Feature creep two weeks from release seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

It's evil conspiracy by most AAA developers. They develop any game in not more than month and spend spare time before release(like 5 years) on expesive hookers and drugs.

That seemed to be how Romero worked anyway.

Good methodology and a tight team using modern tools and techniques to develop for a 8 year old level of graphical fidelity. 1-2 week iterations that deliver real value without cockups are more than achievable for non game development.

Or they could have decided a month or so ago to implement these features, realizing now that there's no way they can meet the intended release date anymore.

I call bullshit on this one. Just a marketing gimmick to gain customer goodwill.
