Though the name of the game implies that there’s obviously going to be one thing for sure, Dungeons, there’s also some new jungle-like terrain to play in, and lots of new looks for characters. A new “half-giant†player class has been added to the mix (judging from the height of the other players, we put him at about 8 or 9 feet tall), and there’s tons of new AI opponents, including a humanoid/feline cross called the Hassat, the Ultraens (apparently they think they own the place), and yet another race called the Zaurask. These three races, along with hating each other, are going to be in your way as you try to seek out what you came to find, and will offer some good challenges to you as you work your way through the game. There’s also no shortage of various other critters running around, some of the old faves such as giant spiders and scorpions, brightly colored rats the size of Volkswagens, and hordes of undead bursting up out of the ground as you walk past.

I imagine it's hard to really be surprised by anything popping out of the ground in Dungeon Siege since the game plays itself for you and thus will react to the monsters regardless of how surprised you are.
