GameRaiders posted this more enthusiastic review of Blade&Sword then those of other sites, giving <b78 overall

Blade and Sword takes place in ancient China and heavy use of martial arts, special moves, and combos. The three characters range in agility, strength and diversity. One character is very agile and quick and features a dual weapon attack. Another is stronger, yet less agile and uses a broad sword. The third is the strongest and least agile and sports a giant blade.
Skill points are awarded and allocated along a skill tree as in most RPGs. There aren’t as many options here and you’ll have all the skills completed at the end of the game. Skills can result in special moves, which then can be used together with other special moves to make some spectacular and dangerous combo attacks. The game includes 36 different Kung Fu attacks and 12 super attacks.
Unfortunately, because you’ll have the entire skill tree complete by the end of the game, there isn’t much thought nor time spent on deciding where to place your skill points. The game does a lot of it for you and there simply aren’t many options to choose from. In addition, this is the first RPG that I have ever played where you have no control over the weapons nor the armor of your character. You can’t trade out or upgrade weapons, armor or anything that your character carries. You do have a small amount of control by the use of gems that will give you some special abilities, but the lack of control over the characters basic equipment is a sore spot.

Aha! A clue! These days reviews are like pieces of a puzzle. Each review contains a piece of somewhat useful gameplay related info, and after you read 10-15 reviews you can reconstruct the actual gameplay and get an idea what a game is really like.
