<blockquote>They start on a bridge, they shoot some meteors or something at it.
<br>
They show the level up screen.
<br>
Talk about "dark fantasy" and how it looks standard fantasy.
<br>
"Big thing is they dropped D&D to go with their own universe."
<br>
They show different spells available to their character and talk about how they're all straight out of D&D.
<br>
"Saving game" pops up.
<br>
They're supposed to light the big tower.
<br>
"My understanding is this game is narratively complicated".
<br>
They've specifically chosen a bit just to show off gameplay.
<br>
Talk about having to make tough decisions "because it's a BioWare game, so you'll know if you're familiar with that stuff".
<br>
4 dudes in their party.
<br>
He's a pauser.
<br>
Can directly control anyone in your party.
<br>
Zoom in / Out using the mouse wheel.
<br>
"After playing through it, it's actually a little easier to be closer".
<br>
"Direct click any of my dudes to cast heal".
<br>
His mage dies.
<br>
"Difficult. In line with how I've played it in the past".
<br>
Chracters get covered in blood spatter during combat.
<br>
"Inventory system has some revisions". Some kind of group inventory thing.
<br>
"Every time I played this game, it ends with fight, fight, horrible death".
<br>
"Lot to keep track of in battle. Does seem a little on the harder scale for an RPG."
<br>
"Games like this are made for a certain fan-base. They know who their audience is."
<br>
His dead Mage stands back up at the end of the battle.
<br>
Any time you get knocked out, you break bones which affects your stats. These can be healed instantly if you have the right potions.
<br>
Holding tab shows all the interactive items, chests etc.. to open / pick up.
<br>
They show friendly fire with a spell. Can be turned on or off based on your difficult choices.
<br>
He pauses a lot.
<br>
Mostly melee fights, though he sits back with his caster casting spells.
<br>
Tactics screen allows you to set behaviour of your men. Ranged fighters, lots of menus to choose from.
<br>
"The attacks you're making look weak as hell."
<br>
Corpses seem to disappear after being looted?
<br>
They trigger some traps and end up with their whole team all on fire.
<br>
He walks back into the fire again... and heals himself.
<br>
The fire disappates not long afterwards.
<br>
They don't have the attack combos and cooler stuff during this time.
<br>
You can apparently set grease on the ground, add fire and set it on fire.
<br>
Chugs a bunch of potions. Normal difficulty.
<br>
"I've been playing RPGs a good portion of my life. This one is tough."
<br>
Numbers fly off as attacks performed, damage done and XP earned.
<br>
You can equip two sets of weapons and change them quickly.
<br>
His mage dies again.
<br>
"That's all we're gonna do. We're just gonna chug some potions."
<br>
His other guys die and he's left with a nameless tower guard.
<br>
He chugs a health potion and keeps bashing it while it bashes him.
<br>
One on one fight seems rather drawn out but the tower guard wins.
<br>
... and then everybody who was dead just stands up again. Looks kinda lame.
<br>
"Oh I fell asleep during the middle of that battle. What happened guys?"
<br>
"That's Dragon Age."</blockquote>
<br>
Looks good overall. The guy playing doesn't really use much in the way of tactics, even just basic shit like focussing all his party's attacks on one enemy. Mainly just switches between guys to make them chug potions.
<br>
<br>
Would be nice if you had to go around and tend to your fallen team-mates wounds to get them standing up again after a battle. Even if they rolled around and groaned a bit while waiting for you to get to them. As it is, it just comes across as comedic when they all instantly stand-up in unison afterwards.
<br>
<br>
There's also a <a href="http://www.playmagazine.com/index.php?fuseaction=SiteMain.Content&contentid=1863">preview up at PlayMagazine</a>. "If that appealing pedigree doesn’t get you sharpening your broadsword, then maybe a glimpse into my hands-on time with Origins will."
<br>

I see you aren't next-gen enough, and perceive 20 minutes as 20 minutes instead of 30 minutes. R00fles!
