I wonder why its not being ported to the ps3. Are the OS's so different that they can't afford the dev costs?

More likely Microsoft is paying them for the privilege of exclusivity.

Plus it'd be odd if they released Part 2 of an epic trilogy without porting the first.

I don't like this new idea of EA (and Bioware?) that we have to decide which version of the game we will be getting, if we pre-order or if we pre-order the Collector's Edition. I mean, if we want this item we need to pre-order from a certain site; if if want that item, I need to pre-order from a certain other site. It's not very nice, I find - but such is capitalism, I guess....

Especially if the pre-order items show up as DLC...

The rest of us will unlock the items a week after thanks to the tireless folks at the pirate bay.

The Mass Effect trilogy is an emotionally dead science fiction adventure set in a tiny universe filled with human like alien life and mysterious, cookie cutter planets. In Mass Effect 2, players will once again step into the role of the extreme Commander Shepard, commanding their crew of some of the most dangerous operatives from across the galaxy (cf. this is the new shit) on a mission so challenging that it’s potentially suicidal (end game spoiler). Featuring intense shooter action (90% of the game), a rich futuristic storyline (7% of the game), space exploration (3%), and emotionally dead 3D character interaction, the game delivers an unparalleled cinematic experience - are you listening Hollywood?.
Can't wait.
