<blockquote>The multiplayer sequel to 2008's Mount & Blade will, in addition to intense 64 player combat on horseback, incorporate new gameplay based on marriage into the action RPG that is set to release in March of 2010.

Join Armagan Yavuz, Lead Developer at Taleworlds Entertainment, as he takes players through the new marriage features in Mount & Blade: Warband during the Paradox Interactive Convention.

"It's a very important aspect of real life and we wanted to translate that into the game," says Armagan, as he speaks on romance in the title. "It's a different kind of challenge."

Also more swards.

Mount & Blade is about wrestling tough guys and their swards.

PS: his body language and tone all speak books of "omfg this shit is stupid and I know it is but fuck the fans want it so fuck it"

What the game really needs is a feature that lets you bang a lord's wife while the lord is away from the castle. If the lord returns while you are "knowing" her you get caught, hilarity ensues.

Let me guess, it's already in a mod?

What I want to know is, will they be implementing a feature that allows you to seed your own army of bastards in the future?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Heh, sounds like the expansion will be... fun.

There's already the Wedding Dance mod, though, complete with full frontal nudity, chainmail bikinis and perpetually erect dicks. Also BDSM dungeons.

Having looked at Mount & Blade's scripts I imagine this will involve some sort of simple disposition meter. IF faction_adherence = NOT enemy, AND disposition =< X AND quest_# completion flag = 0 go to Greeting1, ELSE... Romanceable_female_NPC will be a character template. Mechanical. The romance dialogue will barely cover that up.

Not much of a feature but it is a good use of advertising opportunity for a small company.

Eventually, there seem to be more features in Warband according from the taleworlds-subforum for the singleplayer-campaign:

- New map
- New faction
- Cut-scenes for events such as marriages
- Marriage and courtship for males
- Marriage for females with more challenges for females
- More complicated relations between nobles
- A unified rebellion/defection system
- Player legitimacy
- Player monarchs
- New quests
- A new diplomatic system
- New lord AI with explainers
- Promotion of companions to lords
- Late game adjustments and balance
- Bar fights
- Morale system

But it´s not confirmed that all of this will be implemented in the final expansion

Hmmm. So they are finally embracing their Pirates! heritage?

I like where it is heading. Now, I reckon all this dating simulator stuff will be major news to all the faggots who enjoy it, but AI improvements, more stuff to do and improved kingdom management are good news indeed... shame it was already done in mods, though.

Beside the cutscenes everything was in mods before. If they just program features around the existing code it´s very lazy. I just hope that they implement it well in the hardcode and make the overland ai significantly better.
But adapting / get ideas from mods is good in my opinion. They even employed some modders to finish M&B. And that was a good thing. The companion system and the writing is from a modder as far as I know. And I like it really that you can´t have all companions together and some companios despise each other or are friends together. And the writing brings some background in the sterile world. But I had hoped that there would be more interaction.

Moo?
...Did a wedding planner from Hawaii seriously just latch onto a thread about marriage in Mount & Blade?

Or am I taking my pills in the wrong dosage?

Wedding planning should fix before your marriage and take relax on the wedding ceremony.
So true. With such wisdom in my corner, my wedding ceremony is going to be smooth sailing. And all this at a price that won't break the bank! Thanks, Maui Weddings!
