The first review of M&B Warband surfaced over yonder at Gamers Nexus.

The singleplayer campaign is just as great as the original, but the focus is definitely on multiplayer for this expansion. The campaign map has changed a little bit; there are now six factions, players have an expanded ability to lead their own kingdom, marry for political gain, and even force other kings into vassalage; influence from the Total War series can be seen all over the campaign. You can build up an army of thousands, rule a kingdom, a rebel army, or command a band of brigands that thrives on pillaging small villages and caravans. Quests are somewhat unimaginative and dull, but they get the point across. The roleplay element has been revitalized with the inclusion of Warband, adding more options for companions and personality conflict than expected for a war game. It’s addictive and tough to quit, just like the Multiplayer.

It's kinda misleading, isn't it? You can do none of those things in multiplayer.

Edit: Nevermind, just looks that way out of context.

Im a big mount & blade fan and I like the changes made to single player in Warband but many of them are not yet complete.

So we got another incomplete game that is shipped and will be patched later. There are some quest lines that if you select that dialog tree it tells you "This feature not implemented yet".

I think the diplomatic changes and the fact that you can be king will make the game much better once they get fully implemented.

My advice is wait about a year for them to finish it before buying.

I can understand bugs but it amazes me companies get away with releasing games with incomplete features.

Should be some great mods made from this as well.

Really? That's pretty weak. But I'm sure with mods and patience, the expansion will come to represent at least a moderate improvement over the single-player experience you currently get with the original and its mods. Just have to wait a bit.

Sword of Damocles mod already did it.

FFS, don't buy it unless you want to play multiplayer, it's that simple.
