How the fuck does an Xbox exclusive DLC make any sense? Console exclusive games exist for two reasons, as far as I know - it's easier than to develop multi-platform, and console manufacturers give bonuses or whatever when you make the game exclusive to their console.
Neither of these applies in any fucking way to a DLC.

It's always been like that with Microsoft and the $$$. And because New Vegas is a Steamworks title rather than a GfWL title then Microsoft just locked it down to XBL (for an unknown amount of time).

It's most likely a timed-exclusive though. Same happened with the GTA IV DLCs.

No, but I mean, what $$$? It's not like anyone's going to buy the game again for the XBox, just to get the DLC. All this is going to do is piss off retards who feel entitled to shit.

It's Microsoft trying to make their userbase feel special.

Sounds like utter shit. Sounds like Bethesda made it then?
Nope, as repeated in previous thread:
Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Obsidian Entertainment, Dead Money, has not yet been rated by the ESRB. It will be available for 800 Microsoft points.
I would be interested to see if there's any solid data behind Microsoft and Sony paying for exclusive-to-their-console DLC, or if they just do it on the assumption that it helps sales.

(t)

Yeah, that line is remarkably insulting. I guess true fans buy the game on the shittier platform.
Eh, it's only insulting if you're looking for something to be offended by. It's not like he said all fans or true fans, just fans.

...OH GOD WHY DID I JUST DEFEND PETE HINES PLEASE IGNORE ME.

A heist counds kinda interesting, but why do I get the feeling it will be lame and retarded?

That's good Obsidian is involved in this, some of the sidequests in F:NV are gems of well conceived game design. Waiting to see how the episodic DLC content (first for them, probably) may treat them, but hope they don't rely too much on those to push meaningful content.

As much as there were some interesting quests in NV, I just wonder if Obsidian can pull of an interesting and enjoyable dlc. Guess I'll just wait and see...

Goddammit I was actually thinking of a mod with a setup like this. Wanted to use a reasonably open-ended Western trope with intrigue potential that hadn't really been picked up in NV already. Ah well, back to the drawing board, probably wouldn't have gone anywhere with it anyway.

Wut? How do they not apply? Yes, Microsoft have paid for (probably time-limited) exclusive DLC. We may not like it, but it makes perfect business sence to them no doubt. You need a 360 if you want to play.

1) I'm sure it will eventually make it to PC -- $$$$

2) It's probably terrible anyway considering most of the FO3 DLC was pretty terrible.

It will eventually be released on the PC.

But it still will not be worth the money.
