The creator of SCOURGE, the latest rogue-like game, has been getting some mail dedicated to the suckage of the RT combat system. This topic has been briefly discussed here, where some retarded induhviduals tried to present arguments like "making the game turn based would take half the fun away and make it too technical", but only ended up demonstrating beyond the reasonable doubt that TB is the way to go:

The battle system is currently undergoing surgery. The aim is to produce a saner, turn-based and optionally real-time system that is acceptable to most. At this stage of the development it's hard to say which camp will be happier (that is to say if the result will be more like a micro-managed, turn-based system or pausable real-time). As soon as I have something even half-way interesting, I will post an interim build so you can take a look. Of course all this combat development has put the 'secret project' behind schedule...

Another victary for TB!

I just hope it's implemented well. TB does not mean much if it's implemented shittily.

Goes without saying

Thing is if it is a shitty implementation I tend to believe it isn't a victory for TB, it's in fact a major loss because it turns people off from TB. That's the point I was trying to get across, sorry if it wasn't clear earlier.

Pretty much. There is no victory if the "TBed" combat system is essentially RT with pause.
