Gamers.com, anticipating the release of the Xbox version of the game on December 6th, have written up a preview of the game. Here's a paragraph of brain-raping wrongness.
Of course, that's the appeal of the KOTOR series: the ability to choose. Just like in the first game, KOTOR II features two branching paths you can take, and how you answer questions and deal with specific situations will determine whether you stay on the light path or fall to the dark side, but that's one of the few old things that were carried over to the sequel. The phrase, "the more things change, the more they stay the same" really doesn't apply, because, while KOTOR II's turn-based combat is roughly the same as in the last game, there's a host of new stuff, starting with the characters.
First off: KOTOR only actually 'branched' at one single point in the game. So, yeah, it does branch, but a tree with only two branches on it isn't much of a tree at all. Second: anyone who says KOTOR's combat is turn based is a muffinhead.

KOTOR's combat is turn based. Next time don't threaten people with muffinhead. It always fails.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I don't think the preview makes sense. Here's an example of the completely conflicting statements prevalent in this preview:

"As the last remaining Jedi, it's up to you to save your order, but temptation to turn to the dark side is strong."

&

"Kreia is an older Jedi who will join your party and try to reconnect you to the light side of the force."

Unless you happen to be Kreia, how can you be the last remaining Jedi? It's either that, or they've already told you part of the plot: Kreia must die!

Then how about this:

"Since this is the developer's first game, expectations are unbelievably high..."

That makes no sense. True the people that work at Obsidian are veterans, but usually people don't tend to have high expectations for a new development house (or maybe that's just the way I look at things).

And here is another set of gems:

"All of these mysteries make KOTOR II the most anticipated yet mysterious title this holiday season..."

&

"It's difficult avoiding Halo 2 and Grand Theft Auto's blast radius, and as a result, numerous games have been pushed underneath the radar. KOTOR II is unfortunately one of these..."

If KOTOR II has been pushed under the radar, how in the hell is it the most anticipated this holiday season? I'm not sure about other people, but I sure as hell consider just about any games released in Q4 to be holiday season material (especially in the console game market).

Gamers.com just showed how stupid they are.

To quote the preview, "the more things change, the more they stay the same."
