Basilisk Games have a new project update, and while there is no official announcement yet for Eschalon Book III, they did finally acknowledge they are working on a Sci-Fi based RPG:

Many of you have heard rumors that we have been working on a Sci-Fi based RPG for quite some time, and that is true, though we are not prepared just yet to say that is what’s coming next. Just keep an eye on our forums, Twitter feed or Facebook page because those are the places we tend to “slip” information about what projects we playing around with day-to-day.

Can't get much lighter on the details than that, short of flat out denying you're developing any games at all.

I do follow them on Twitter & they aren't exactly the most loquacious type. Also they didn't follow back.

Dear Santa, please send me a sci fi RPG with rail gun, robots and daemons, not that shitty HellGate London crap. Thanks.

While I am not a fan of Sci Fi rpg's, this does sound good.

Even a merely adequate sci-fi RPG would be welcome. Here's hoping Basilisk can bank on the experience gained on their previous games and make something good.

Gold box inspace ? you wish...Judging by the "quality" of previous games it will be a crippled turn by turn diablo clone with no strategy required at all.The plot will be predictable and full of clichés.
This time you wont kill giant spiders with your bow moving one step back and shooting but you will kill grey aliens with your laser moving one step back and shooting.
Well at least my expectations are so low that i wont be disapointed.

IIRC it will be party based (as so many people were asking for that). As for what kind of perspective, I think it might be M&M like, but I forget.

And you know what Mortmal, it will be more enjoyable than Dragon Age II. At least I will actually buy this game, instead of completely ignoring DA II.

To be honest, I wish I could kidnap Charles (the Underworld dev) and Basilisk Ranger (Eshalon Dev) and lock them in a room together until they finished making a game.

IT WOULD BE HEVAN!
