Atari have put out a new patch--the third--for Troika's D&D dungeon crawl The Temple of Elemental Evil, which you can grab here (direct download link). The only fix is the looting bug due to DirectX9.0c/SP2.
Thanks to zhuge of ToEE modding site Circle of Eight for the news. zhuge also comments:
Comparatively FYI, Moebius's latest temple.dll currently corrects more than 30 separate bugs (of which quite a number I consider to be major), also addresses the DX9c/XPSP2 issue and adds a host of other modifications like the level uncapper, ability to add higher level spells, Scorching Ray, etc...

And you can grab that fan patch from here.

I'm just curious to see how Exitium is going to bitch about this patch. What flame is going to be directed at Troika this time? Should we start a betting pool; it could make the bitching more tolerable.

P.S. You know we love you Exitium!

I guess they didn't fix the stuttering/poor performance at the elemental planes? if not it's not worth patching.

I agree. I didn't finish the game because of the horrible slowdowns. If they're dealt with I'll try again.

OK, if I want to play TOEE starting now, what should I install for the best experience overall? I don't have SP2, so it's not a problem to not install this last patch, if it makes older fan patches incompatible. The first 2 Troika patches, I assume, then what? The Co8 3.0.4 patch? this "moebius" one?

I asked zhuge in that other thread and he says official patch 2, then Co8 3.0.4 and then moebius' temple.dll.

Frowning at my monitor as I read your dumb post.
That they won't fix those slowdowns in the temple really, REALLY pisses me off. Selling a game that plays like that...

I'm generally against Federal regulations, but honestly, there really ought to be something put in place to help consumers who buy a game that is that buggy have a recourse that doesn't involve paying to ship something shitty back or however you can go about getting a refund from the publisher, if that is even possible.
