Hm, did previous games include manangment of colonies? I recall only managment of your shit..ship, in those screens it looks like you can become a governor of some place. If thats so, the game turns more RTS than I would ever want. Ditch it.

Hmm, as I understand, you CAN become a governor, it's not compulsory. I like that feature myself, btw. Why ditching a game because of a feature you can choose not to use? That sounds silly.

Because it changes gameplay. They will definetly stress this feature, incorporate it into storyline, it wount be like I could play adequatly without it. Since they implement it, they waste some time and money on it, so they want players use this feature, that means there is less non-strategy stuff in game.

Usually you have to use all features game offers, to fully "enjoy" the game as developers have intended. Immagine if you could manage some community in Fallout? Screen pop-up where you decide how many people go to fields, what equipment to purchase from merchants etc..

Kamaz.... you need to go to Pirates Ahoy! and read about the game in their forums. You're being stupid. Stop it, silly dog. It's just the next game in the Sea Dogs series and of course there's going to be new stuff added. Go here and here for tons of info on the game. They even have multiplayer now.

Arrrr, it be a good day t'be a pirate! Aye! Avast!

Well, yea. "Nether-Earth" style strategic battles was a hyped feature of SR2, but it was absolutely optional - if gave you nice money if you'll manage to complete it. Fun, too.
Same, I guess, will be with fort managing in Corsairs 3.

Well, the reasons I wont even bother to do it:
  • I hate pirate-stuff
  • I tried once one of those games. It was total shit. If you say Troika games are buggy...well..in this case that game was one BIG BUG itself. I saved game and when next time tried to load it, it just showed icon "Corrupted save game". And tons of such slots without any reasons.

First Corsairs were not as buggy as you paint them Kamaz, all and it was interesting game well worth its money, I dont know about Pirates of Carribean since I didn't bother with it.

Well, in my case those were Pirates of Carribean, I guess. I was frustrated seeing that they have even added option to detect is save-game corrupted or not instead of just fixing this goddamned BUG.

PoTC was a buggy piece of shit thanks to Disney moving in and buying up the rights for what was originally supposed to be Sea Dogs 2. They made them change ALOT in very little time because they wanted the game out the door around the time the movie was released. This caused major problems. Then, like the assholes they are, Disney just dropped the ball on it, so no patches were ever released.

The good folks over at Pirates Ahoy modded their little fingers off and made POTC one kick ass game with the Build 12 Mod. Fixed ALOT of bugs and added so much more content that it's like playing a sequel. I was disappointed in POTC, but kept my copy because I knew what they were doing over there. I'm glad I did because it's a great game now. I still say the best piratey game ever though is Uncharted Waters 2. I think it'll be awhile before any pirate game can beat that for content simply because of the demands for uber graphics these days.
