!ign has the first review I've seen of Irrational's latest, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich. It's apparently really great, so much so that they rate it 9.0/10>
Seeing how no one else has yet picked up the ball and run with it, Irrational is graciously offering up a sequel, Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich. The game won't be out until next Tuesday but our good buddy TimeMaster brought us a final copy last week and asked us (with booming voice and shaking fist no less) to offer up an early review. For those of you who were fans of the first game, don't worry: the sequel is just as good. It's doesn't break any new ground for the franchise, but it offers up the same great action set in the same fantastic style.
That's pretty much what I wanted to hear.

I'm excited. I had a ton of fun with the first Freedom Force - the game was just so much more than the sum of it's parts.

The state of insanity.
Yeah, I was impressed with the new engine. I just wish someone would have chosen a better level for the demo. Still, the game has my purchase already.

Im looking forward to this too.
However, much like the first one, I'll probably wait a few months until it's price is lower.
So, just like most of the games I play, everyone else on this site will have finished it (possibly multiple times) before I've started it!

Where do you people get the time?

Just an ahead warning:

Alot of the screenshots IGN has are pretty spoiiler-y. Theres alot of pictures from the end game levels and loading screens and even some of the dialogs.

The even have a screenshot of the ending movie itsself...

i managed to sneak my preorder in right before they closed that part of the site. looking forward to giving this one the whatfor. Hopefully someone has the balls to update some of those old marvel skins that were around for the last game. Don't think I'd like playing as anyone but my ole buddy the merc with a mouth. :D

According to Patrick, those skins, which are still around if you know where to look, work just fine with FF2. You just have to place them in a different directory than you had to before.

Sounds like good news to me! Thanks for the scoop Spazmo, you've just lent some creedence to my hopes that the demo was not representative of the entire game. Hopefully I can scrape together some dough to buy this before it's a bargin-bin special. I don't think I've bought a newly released game in about 5 years. :(
