Gotta play and update my FAQ. :)
Weapon reaches and damages were rebalanced too, btw. Now you can have a lance with 200+ reach! But damages were tweaked down slightly.

The new tweaks and weapons are good. I'm trying out thrown weapons. Now there is a good range of them they are more worthwhile. The new lances are a welcome addition too.

A few folk have said the same, he really should allow for some sort of wire transfer or other payment method.

Wow. That looks kinda cool. Downloading.

EDIT: Hey wow, it's like Morrowind only with better combat (from an FPS point of view)! Sure it relies on my own agility to an extent but I've always preferred that in FPS games. Seems more interesting that way. Just riding around on horses is cool. Why they couldn't do that in Morrowind - yet it's in here - I'll never know.

Here is the most recent estimate of the minimum specs from the developer:

Processor: Pentium 766 MHz
Memory: 128 MB
100 MB of free hard disk space

I just bought it. $15 AUD. Most fun combat game I've played in a long while. Sure, it's a little rough around the edges but combat on horse-back is super-cool and for $15? Fuck yeah!

It makes all the developers who said they couldn't do horse combat blatant liars or incompetent fools. They can all consider themselves owned.

This game is good!

I'm a sucker for supporting indie developers, so this is probably a buy for me.

I'm just surprised at how good the combat is actually. The only downsides.

  • I'm a soloist. Though the game allows you to have several companions in your party (we're talking a couple of hundred here). While at the start, I'm encountering bands of 7 or 8 River Bandits, as you level up, the number of bad guys you encounter increases. I'm level 36. I'm regularly encountering groups of 100+ guys... that I have to kill. Now I can kill them, just, with a bit of effort but I'd really prefer to just take on groups of 20 or so every now and then. Not *EVERY* group has to be so god-damned big.
  • The other annoying thing is that you only get to collect the loot if you kill *all* the bandits in the group. Several times now (now that I'm up to this level), I've been able to take out 50 or so of the bandits, dark hunters etc... before having to retreat. That's a lot of fat loot I've left behind.
  • If you get knocked of your horse, you die. Well, not really but you may as well be. Every time you hit someone or someone hits you, there's "knockback". As soon as you get knockbacked, your swing is interrupted and your vulnerable to every other attack. So while on horse-back you can make sweeping passes and take out 2 or 3 guys every charge, if you get knocked off your horse, you have to go in and fight 20 guys all up close and guess what... The minute one knocks you back, you're as good as dead. What's even more annoying is that you ALWAYS get knocked back even if they cause no damage. I mean, shouldn't I be able to glance blows off here? It'd certainly make a great skill to add.
Other then that, the graphics are really good and the game has a lot of upsides. Tracking, prisoner management, leadership skills. Sure it's all combat but there's enough varity to choose between a horse-archer, a crossbowman, a lancer or (if knockback was removed or a skill implemented which decreases its affect) a guy on the ground with a sword and shield.

If you haven't, definately give the demo a shot.

SomethingAwful seems to like it, too. Spokker Jones put it in his little 'blog' on SA, telling people to buy it.

If anyone has suggestions for the game, it would be worthwhile going to the offical forum and mentioning them there. He's pretty good for listening to feedback.

I like this game all the more as it has virtually come out of nowhere, and with such a strong showing.
