In the latest popamole news we can offer a brief preview of the upcoming Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC over at Kotaku.
Leviathan will be 2 to 3 hours long, probably closer to 3 hours. Clifford said they were shooting for about a Lair of the Shadow Broker depth.
The story will take place in the middle of the Mass Effect 3 story, with no specific place in the storyline.
There are 3 main combat missions, which will take place all over the Mass Effect universe.
There will be new weapons, some of which were previously pre-order bonuses.
The story begins on the Citadel, but goes beyond that. (All the way to the bottom of the ocean. Well, an ocean.)
It will be out on all platforms simultaneously.
It will be out this summer, after the Firefight weapon pack, which comes out August 7 Th..
It will cost $9.99.

Only $9.99.

Why is the price in USD and not Bioware points where to buy $9.99 worth of Bioware points you need to buy at least 6000 Bioware points at $80?

2-3 hours of content for $10 seems pretty bad. I realise it's probably more "cinematic" than some other DLC, but it's pretty obvious that they want more money for less gameplay. Story sounds completely derp too, lol reapers with human emotions. Unless there's some sort of Awesome(TM) new feature, I'll be staying far away from this if I can.

BioWare manages to make playing 2 hours of a game more expensive than watching a 2 hours movie...

In before Michael Bay directing DLCs.

"2-3 hours of content for $10 seems pretty bad."

Tell that to movie theatres.

Unless you only go to theatre on days/times with specials (I never go to the theatre myself), you ar elucky to get into a 1.5 hour movie for only $10 nowadays. And, it's 2-3 hjours which means 1-5 hours depending whose playing.

At least the movie actors have better animations.

...Unless it's Kristen Stewart.

Movies are lightyears ahead of bioshit "games". No need to occasionally press some stupid button to continue the animaton, it just plays by itself the whole time!! So you have both your hands free for popcorn. And writing is generally much better even if it's super shit movie.
Looks like eaware isn't there with technology yet.

Enter regional pricing. A 9.99 $ DLC costs 9.99€ here, whereas a movie ticket for a summer blockbuster can go for anywhere from 5-8 €, with 8 usually being bullshit gimmick movies also known as 3D. The new Batman movie, that opened on 27.07 here costs 6.50€ now for example. And that movie is almost 3 hours. With a client card you can go as low as 4 € for a new movie.

Remember when Half Life was released back in the 90's, it was praised for having all storytelling occur in game play so as to never break the flow with cut scenes?

Enter thridworldia: 8 R$ a movie here (~4 dollars), but the DLC is still 9.99 dolars (~20 reais)....playing watching a Bioware game here is twice more expensive than wacthing an actual movie...

Do we really need to have the same discussion about how overpriced DLC is every other week when another is released? How about just ignoring this crap?

Had they not spent all that fucking worthless development/cost on Multi-player turning it into Mass Call Of Duty Effect, this shit would have already been in the game.

Good riddance BioWare. :salute:

Enter thridworldia: 8 R$ a movie here (~4 dollars)
that of course would depend, as it can get relatively expensive as well
