There's a review of Gas Powered Games' Dungeon Siege II at PC Gameworld. They rate it 80% for being good at what it is, but nothing new.
Once all is said and done and a safe distance from the game has been reached there are a few important questions to be asked. Has it been done? Yeah, it has. Has it been done better? Arguably. Does it offer anything new? No, it really doesn't. But most importantly: Is it fun? Well, yeah- it's a lot of fun that lasts for many hours even if it doesn't feel all that fresh or innovative. The bottom line is Dungeon Siege 2 delivers exactly what it promises and that's no small feat in this industry.
That's probably true. I just wish someone would promise a lot more and then actually deliver on that.
