What follows is bound to be the most epic of majestic battles.
The PanCodexian Federation, an unlikely union of trolls and bros, fight against two mindless, soulless and terrible machines of destruction sent by the Combined Forces of Decline to destroy their last refuge in the barren, popamole world.

Who are these brave heroes? Who are the weasels? Who will win? Who will be shamed? Will it even happen?

Brothers, brace yourselves! Decline is coming!

The rules of the game available for free here: http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/resources/
The simpler Pocket Edition rules are better for forum play, though.
These are not available for free, but you can watch some gameplay videos here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fybx0jIIiCg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f84q3D05Y4 (both parts)
And an intro here:

These should be enough even for people who never played the game, I think, but some board/wargame experience wouldn’t hurt.
I’ll post some notes further down as well.

The map will be the original Ogre map and the scenario "Mark IIIs Attacking", but for more potential lulz I'm thinking we should have a 4-player game in 2 teams. The defense will be 2 players each with half of the units and the offense will be the other 2 players each controlling a Mark III Ogre which they can and preferably should name.

I'll be the referee, which mostly means I'll post the updated map and Ogre record sheets after players make their choices. I’m going to use Vassal, which you can also get and set up the game if it makes it easier for you to follow.

So we need four players.
Places will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
If there are not enough players I can take one of the sides, we can adjust the scenario, replace the two Mark IIIs with a Mark V or agree that I’ve made one fucklong post for nothing.

Defense gets 30 squads of infantry (any combination of 1, 2 or 3 squads) and 22 armor units with the Howitzers costing 2 armor units. If there are two players, each gets half.

A maximum of 40 points of attack strength are allowed in the central area.

After the defense sets up the units, the turn order will be:
Ogre 1
Ogre 2
Defense 1
Defense 2

You can decide between yourselves who is 1 and who is 2.

To move declare what you want to move with the number of the hex that unit is on and the number of the hex you want to move it to.

To attack declare the attacking and defending units, their hex numbers, the attack ratio and then roll the die.

Players in the same team can delay their attack phase until both of them have moved if they want to combine fire.

Since you can move or shoot several times in a phase, it will be more efficient to do as much as you can in a single post.

For dice rolling it would probably go faster if each player rolled their own dice with the dice roller here on the Codex, if everyone is OK with that and swears not to be a fag and delete their post to re-roll. You can do multiple rolls too so that will work if you want to do several attacks in a post.
I can also do the rolls if you don't trust each other.
  • The only units available for the defense are Infantry (1, 2 or 3 squads), Howitzer, GEV, Missile Tank and Heavy Tank.

  • Stacking is not allowed except to combine infantry squads in up to three squads per hex.
    - Splitting is not allowed. Basically you stack to join two weaker squads into a stronger one.
  • The Ogres can ram (move over) other units.
    - When ramming an armor unit roll a die to determine if the unit is disabled (roll of 1-3) or destroyed (roll of 4-6)
    - Howitzers and the CP are destroyed automatically by ramming
    - The Ogre loses 2 treads for ramming a Heavy Tank and 1 tread for any other armor unit. No treads are lost for ramming the CP.
    - Infantry can’t be rammed. Moving over it just reduces it by one squad. If the Ogre still has move points it can use one to reduce the infantry by another squad.
  • Armor units can ram the Ogre
    - The Ogre loses 2 treads if rammed by a Heavy Tank and 1 tread if rammed by any other armor unit. The armor units are destroyed automatically after ramming.
  • An infantry squad can’t be attacked two times in the same turn by AP weapons from the same Ogre, but any number of AP weapons can be used in that one attack.

Shouldn't this be done in the Let's Play section? Someone is running their DCC game there.

Uh yeah, I don't mind it being moved.
