I don't remember anything remarkable about the game, apart having 3 or 4 characters who's only difference was the length of the health, mana and stamina bar. But it was fun, back when its was released.

It was pretty OK game.

Take No Prisoners was much, much better though.

I own original.
Not terribly special, but it's a fun game with quite a few interesting and innovative things:

-World is divided into maps, but otherwise pretty free-roaming - there is a lot of backtracking between them and figuring how to get into specific places.
-Different types of damage with enemies and armours having different susceptibility to each
-Usable vehicles
-Ability to destroy many scenery objects - or throw smaller ones at enemies
-Diverse enemies with different behaviour
-A lot of environment interaction
-Intelligent enemies (like humans and some mutants) can pretty much perform all the actions player can, including picking up weapons and items, using medkits or driving vehicles and firing mounted weaponry

As for Mageslayer - does anyone know how to get rid of rainbow colours?

Yes, Take No Prisoners was great, too bad of the progress blocking bug at the reactor core.
