The trinity of studios - specializing in making role-playing games with realistic Western-style visual and a variety of character builds - are the most widely-beloved ones at the moment in my opinion, when recent AAA role-playing titles made by them have easily become international cultural phenomenon, selling tens of millions of copies or more and winning many awards along with receiving nigh-unanimous praises from the mainstream audiences.

As for CD Projekt Red, although Cyberpunk 2077 was a step back in quality for the studio when it was first released, after many updates and the Phanton Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 has completely transformed into one of the best AAA games I've ever played, while it would be redundant to discuss how much of an impact Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 have made.

At the same time, the two former kings of the AAA WRPG gaming scene - who were just as successful as the monster trio above 10 or 20 years ago - are increasingly losing their touch with each new release, as can be seen from how their most recent AAA wrpg titles Starfield and Mass Effect Andromeda fail to impress even the general audiences. I'm referring to Bethesda and Bioware of course. Oh how time has changed...

Do you agree with my assessment? Also feel free to elaborate on the reason behind your choice in the poll above.

From software games didn't declined as much as other studios.

Now that CDPR not only has ESG but also has discriminatory polices, being a studio founded by a Polish man and discriminating against Polish men in their scolarships, I hate them the most. Larian produces woke stories, but I don't know any case of them discriminating against the group that created them (source about woman only scolarship ). So, in therms of hate, CDPR > Larian > FS.

I just hope that FS give a Kingsfield continuation.

Still better than producing a worse version of the same video game over and over like bugthesda.

I still remember when Big 3 was used to refer to the biggest 3 shounen anime in the west: One Piece, Naruto and Bleach. Since then the term seems to have waned and misused many times.

The thing about these 3 series is that they marked a generation. I'm not exaggerating. Each one of them ran for almost 20 years, hell, One Piece is still running today. Each week you wake up and the first thing you did was checking if the new chapter of your favourite series was up, and get into fights for who was wrong/right about the previous weeks predictions.

Nobody thinks Larian and CD Project to be some essential part of their lives, enjoyment, memories, whatever. Only From Software could be said to have some degree of impact, but still not fully there, not yet at least. Maybe this minor tangent goes to say that almost nothing these days last this much. Often being only trends that are quickly forgotten.

"In the West", what? It referred to the Big Three in Japan. The so-called "West" was obviously different in places. One Piece didn't get off the ground in the US, while here, for instance, Bleach didn't air at all and as such wasn't relevant.

'Big 3' has been used as a term since long before anime, including but not limited to WW2 and professional sports. It doesn't have to be 'an essential part of someone's lives.' It just means the three most prominent entries in a given grouping or subject.

There are no big western RPG studios, those are just a bunch of Kurwas and Swedefags that the West is desperately trying to Borg.

The more common western term for this kind of "Top 3 something" would be The Holy Trinity of X. But OP is most likely a closet otaku and the term "Big 3" was the only thing that came to mind.

They're all AAA studios. Expect nothing good from any of them, and you won't be disappointed. Speculating about which one will suck least is a waste of life.

Nigga, please. Not everything revolves around your shitty cartoons, weebs.
1. OP used a picture from a manga.
2. He asked about the cultural impact of these studios, not their sales numbers.
3. Stop acting like an aggressive chimp at the mere mention of something you dislike.

I expect that Larian's next game will possibly be something interesting for me as Sven shares the same opinion as I do on what a cRPG should have and be. :salute: I'm so fucking fucking sick of Fantasy™ I do hope they try a different setting. And it will more than likely be, again prestigious turn-based combat. :obviously:

CD Project is gonna do what they do. Unless they do a colossal fuck-up again like the original Cyberpunk, they might do something decent.

I don't care for Souls games so whatever.

Anyone using the term WRPG is a weeb decline enabler and should be treated with suspicion. There's no such thing as WRPG. Only RPG and JRPG.

the jews fear the samurai. it is a common knowledge.
The one and only evil of 2 nuclear bombs dropped on Japan was mutating the proud Samurai into a vile perversity of today. Basically:

False. JRPG is the fake term here since Japs don't understand free will or choice and consequence, the basis of all RPGs. Their games are - very primitive and shitty - turn based strategy games, nothing more.

1. I don't think the big 3 characters refered to in the manga panel above are the one with the most profound culture impact or whatevet, just the most prominent students at their school.

2. Also, I did mentiob selling tens of millions of copies as one of the 3 criterias in my post, didn't I? The two other ones are hype and praise.
