Does such a thing exist? Not necessarily something you'd call a direct successor, just in the same vein.
I mean a game or construction set where you can lay out dungeons and fill them with stuff and scripts.
I know there's the RPG maker but I don't really like the assets and style of that one. Although the scripting system is pretty straightforward and easy to learn. It's not too convoluted if you just want to do something simple, but it still allows you to do all kind of things if you go further into it.
This looks interesting as well: http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/2010/10/ ... -1987.html
I don't know how much this software can do, but I'm not looking for something to run in DOSbox, either.
Things like that are a lot more enjoyable in a window orientied environment, where you can use your mousewheel.
Perhaps something like TADS, which is the "text adventure development system" (http://www.tads.org/), only fit for RPGs. Might even be ASCII based, that'd be cool. Or with rather minimalistic graphics, like the first few Wizardry games.
Any ideas?
