They swear up and down production value, story, writing, c&c, and atmosphere don't matter then recommend you a game that takes 3 hours to solve that a ten year old could beat. Even combat heavy games like battle brothers or wizardry relies on other elements to carry.

I was recently playing king arthur knights tale and it was just so boring and easily solvable, and the combat was all it had besides some atmosphere that was wearing thin; then I switched to risen 2 which I hadn't played in over a decade where the combat consisted of rolling and left click, and I have to say it was better despite awful gameplay because it at least had voiced dialogue, exploration, atmosphere. A game with only combat goes sour as about as quick as a game with only writing, you guys have to stop recommending doo doo.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale is great tactical game with some light RPG elements and incredible atmosphere. No idea what difficulty you played it on, but I played it on Hard when it was released and it had some serious spikes that were a challenge to get through. Maybe they made it easier with the DLC/the rebalance patch. If that's the case then going to Very Hard is probably best call.

Play Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children (2020) or RPG Codex GotY 2023 Jagged Alliance 3.

It's because there's no hair on your chest and you play on the easiest difficulty. Turn it up and you'll see.
