It takes a monster to destroy a monster.

In this Action RPG you are a monster-shifter, equipped with the ability to shapeshift into the beasts you defeat. Venture out alone or in CO-OP with up to 3 friends on a journey to uncover the dark secrets sealed inside the legendary city of Aasha. Grow your powers by finding new equipment and learning skills for both your human and beast form to become strong enough to save what you hold dear.

  • BECOME A SHIFTER: Switch between your human and beast form freely to utilize each form's strengths and skills when needed. The different beast forms are not only formidable in fights, you can also use them to faster traverse and overcome obstacles in the world.
  • ACTION FOCUSED COMBAT: Experience intense combat action where both your own skills and character gear matters. Learn when to attack, dodge, jump, shapeshift and use your abilities to effectively take out the aggressive beasts, bandits and machines that you’ll encounter on your journey.

  • GROW YOUR POWERS: Build up both your human and monster form with new gear, attributes and active and passive skills as you level up. Choose from 4 human classes and train one or more of the 7 beast masteries available.
  • RIDE OUT IN CO-OP: Up to 4 players can play together in drop in/drop out co-op gameplay, both locally and online. In co-op you also unlock a special team mechanic: ride on each other’s back to become a strong cavalry unit together!
  • EXPLORE THE WORLD OF HEERA: Take the role as one of four siblings, each one with their own distinct personality, opening up for different sidequests and choices in conversations. Alongside your main mission you can explore the open areas further to find hidden treasures and complete side quests in an unusual science fantasy world.

Attributes? What are those?
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

We think that a fun RPG lets you customize and specialize your character in different ways. So when developing Coridden, we wanted to find ways for players to do just that. Instead of just passively getting better when gaining a level, we added an attribute system where you can choose what your character should become better at. In this update, we want to dive a bit more into how attributes work in our game!

d759d1c2532df30d5e8869d306cd171cfe1f052f.png

The five attributes to choose from — Power, Fragmentation, Stabilization, Battery, and Element — each one enhances a different aspect of your character. Whenever a player levels up their gauntlets, they'll gain 2 attribute points to freely assign to any of the 5 attributes. There's also possible to find additional attribute points scattered around the world, so remember to explore, and your efforts will be rewarded ✨

The attributes give various passive upgrades to your characters, both to your human and your monster form:
Power — increases physical melee damage;
Fragmentation — increases physical projectile damage and status effect’s damage over time (for example, if you manage to poison an enemy it deals more damage);
Stabilization — improves health and reduces the chance to get staggered by the enemy;
Battery — increases max energy and energy recharge rate;
Element — increases elemental damage and ability power (which in turn improves some active skills).

dab38b913ac9b5c0150bfbbcc0fb24918ce126d7.gif

Attributes are not only important for these passive bonuses, however, as some skills might benefit and be improved from certain attributes — so you can improve skills by upgrading attributes!

Do you upgrade your gauntlet's power to increase physical melee damage? Or do you focus on fragmentation to improve your projectile physical damage and damage over time? The choice is yours.

What build will you be going for? Let us know in the comments!

In current year unfortunately I don't know if this is sarcasm or not. I mean only this sentence. It looks like an irony, but maybe not.

All you need to know about ✨Alterants✨
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

When we embarked on the journey of creating the fascinating, somewhat post-apocalyptic world of Coridden, we found ourselves building every element, every item, and every mechanic from scratch. This also included coming up with unique names for these components. If you've tuned into our stream (thank you!), you've probably heard us mention something called "Alterants". But what exactly are these mysterious elements and how do they impact the gameplay? That's exactly what we wanted to talk about today. Let's unravel the mystery of Alterants together!

e9614aba5d47207664b18520d5a45e8208cd74c6.gif

In Coridden, players have the opportunity to modify their gear through the use of Alterants, or Alts for short. These can be obtained in multiple ways, e.g. through defeating enemies, opening chests, or disassembling weapons. To equip Alts, players will need to visit their home base, the Dayal House, located in Quilon, and use the workbench.

Every item in the game that has at least one Alterant Space can be enhanced with an Alterant. Items can have anywhere from 0 to 6 Alterant spaces, each represented by different shapes: Force (Diamond), Finesse (Circle), and Prime (Rectangle). It's important to note that the shape of the Alterant must match the shape of the Alterant space, with the exception of the Prime space, which can accept any type of Alterant. Some Alterants also may have specific item type requirements, such as bow, melee, armor, or creature form.

b435edb7b36a8a84b7c80ba8252c5b95f620103b.png

Every Alterant has one or two modifiers that affect the item you're inserting them in. The Alterant category decides what type of modifiers the Alt can have. Force Alterants can modify the item’s damage per second, while Finesse Alterants affect other base stats such as health and energy. Prime Alterants, on the other hand, provide special benefints, such as “skill on strike” or “convert damage type”.

Each Alterant's modifier values are randomized - meaning you can find two Alts that do the same thing, but one does it a bit better. So it can be worth to always keep a lookout for even better Alts to use!

6a100254780c2d8324550bda5022714195e4eb27.gif

Players can always disassemble an item with Alterants, and get the Alts back to use them into another item. This allows players to experiment with different Alts, trying out various combinations until they find the one that suits their playstyle the best. However, there's a currency cost associated with assembling weapons with Alts, and some Alts will raise the item level requirement, so choose wisely!

We leave the power to create the perfect weapon in your hands. Experiment, explore, and most of all, have fun

Unveiling the Secrets of Aasha: The Story of Coridden
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

While Coridden's visuals and smooth multiplayer gameplay may be eye-catching, there's an important layer of the game that's hard to show through screenshots and GIFs. Beneath its visual surface lies a story that weaves together elements of adventure, mystery, and the indomitable spirit of humanity. Let's explore it together!

4fd4639be97cd53dcf1761dc7cf6ab1b31f38987.png

Coridden's post-apocalyptic narrative is set on a distant planet, where remnants of old human society and technology are scattered across a landscape reminiscent of Earth's Mesozoic Era.
The story takes place many years after a mysterious disaster forced colonists to leave their city and the advanced technology that used to keep them alive. The colonists have since built a new city, learning to adapt and survive in a world where dangerous reptile beasts roam freely.

A group of brave people called the "Scavengers" go into dangerous places to find resources and artifacts that were left behind after a catastrophic event. Our protagonists, the Dayal siblings, become a part of this group after their lives take an unexpected turn when they equip ancient hi-tech devices that grant them extraordinary shapeshifting powers.

With this newfound ability, they embark on a thrilling journey into the unknown, seeking answers about the true nature of these artifacts. Their quest leads them to the city of Aasha, long abandoned and sealed-off by their ancestors 200 years prior.

As the siblings draw closer to Aasha, they uncover unnerving signs of something concealed within the city's protective barriers. This discovery starts a race against time to prevent the release of something that should remain locked away forever.

Don't let the post-apocalyptic setting mislead you. The story in Coridden isn't just about survival, but also about the human spirit's resilience and the lengths we go to protect our world. We hope you'll join us on this adventure and help the Dayal siblings unravel the mysteries of their past to secure their future.

More Than Just Words: Exploring Dialogue System in Coridden
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

When you play through Coridden's story, you're not restricted to being a passive listener. You can be an active participant in the unfolding narrative, and be given options to dig deeper for more information, decide how to solve a problem, or even select the type of reward you desire. Each choice you make can lead to new secrets, quests, and outcomes, all dependent on the situation and the NPC/quest at hand.

In Coridden, your character's personality matters. The siblings in the game have different approaches to people and problems, and this can open up unique choices and quests. The rewards and outcomes are not always the same, they change based on the character you are playing and the choices you make.

d9c617d20152c7c9eec98459b06fed13710ec1eb.gif

You already know that you can play Coridden solo or in co-op with your friends. But how does making decisions work when there is more than one person playing? Here is where our voting system comes in!

We decided to implement a system that ensures every player has a chance to read the dialogues, and have their say in the choices presented. Every player always needs to press the "confirm" button to continue a dialogue. However, to make sure the flow doesn't get too slow, as soon as one player has pressed "continue" a timer starts. When the timer runs out, it means that the dialogue will continue regardless of every player having confirmed.

When there are multiple options available, each player can vote for the answer they prefer. If there is a tie, a 50-50 chance determines the selected option. Even if the majority leans towards one option, there is still a chance for the less popular choice to be selected. This makes sure every vote is always viable, and adds a fun element of unpredictability to the dialogue outcome!

We believe that our dynamic dialogues in Coridden will provide a unique and engaging gaming experience. Each choice you make, each dialogue you engage in, is a step towards shaping your own adventure. So come, step into the world of Coridden, and let your choices speak for themselves!

Get to know our Characters!
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

Last time, we chatted about the power of dialogues and how your choices can influence the quest, its outcome, and even the rewards. Today, we want to introduce you a bit more to the playable characters: the Dayal siblings. The siblings are more than just colorful characters on your screen - they're people with their own unique personalities. By understanding their temperaments, you'll be better equipped to make choices in the game and avoid potential surprises. Let's get to know them better!

a2cb50874077b9e8dba5559ec6c4d29c5161b6db.jpg

Jai - The intelligent and rational one
As the oldest of the Dayal siblings, Jai has grown up to become a responsible individual. He is naturally intelligent and likes being rational. Sometimes Jai finds it difficult not to point out when people are wrong or use faulty reasoning. He feels pressured to take over the family business one day, which makes him feel weighed down by obligations he doesn't want to shoulder. He dreams of becoming rich and gaining the freedom to do whatever he wants to.

Devi - The supportive and observant one
Devi is the second oldest of the siblings, and she’s very curious and empathetic. She’s much more interested and in tune with her and others' emotions than the other siblings. She loves helping others so much that she often forgets to take care of herself and be happy. Although Devi tries to avoid conflicts with other people, she still sometimes feels she’s not enough to be likeable. She hopes to make her family and the entire community proud of her.

Lilly - The hot-tempered and brutally honest one
The second-youngest, the most daring and ambitious of her siblings, with a sole goal to become the strongest. She was still a child, when she got badly hurt and lost in a fight to defend her sibling, and from then on promised herself to never lose again. Lilly doesn't like showing off any weaknesses, and her short fuse often ends up in harsh comments or fights with others. While her siblings can appreciate her honesty, people who don't know her often take offence to her straight-forward nature and lack of social skills.

c0b6aa165da10d70219c432dadd5bc2fb4429017.jpg

Eshan - The charming and manipulative one
Being the youngest of the siblings, he has always looked up to his siblings and hopes to be as smart, dedicated, and tough as them. He quickly realized, however, that his real strength lies in his charm and wits. Although his inexperience and naiveté can sometimes be a hindrance to his goals, he has little trouble lying and manipulating to get what he wants. And, with his busy and talented family, he often feels like he is not as valuable and good enough as the others. He dreams of becoming famous and popular, someone respected and important among the townsfolk.

We hope this insight into their personalities and family dynamics has sparked your curiosity and deepened your connection with our game. Thank you all for your continuous support and enthusiasm. It really means the world to small studios like ours ❤

Important Figures Behind our Protagonists ✨
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

In the previous update, we introduced you to our main protagonists - the Dayal siblings. Today, we wanted to tell you more about the characters that are the closest to them. Let's talk about their family, their roles and challenges in a post-apocalyptic world.

2727d560709f68ec22558b29dfd9e6bc382a2153.png

Charvi – Mother of the siblings
Charvi is a kind, caring and determined woman. She has been managing the family tech shop inherited from her and her sister Ira’s parents for many years. She raised all of her children mostly by herself, with the occasional help of their father and her sister (when they weren't busy scavenging). Many people in Quilon know that they can not only go to her to buy and fix things, but hire help to perform requests that only scavengers take upon themselves. Charvi is also known for always trying to help someone in some way, regardless of how much money someone might have.

Ira – Charvi's sister, siblings aunt
Ira is energetic, positive and smart. She never wanted to have a family herself, but she always stayed close to Charvi and helped her raise her children as much as she could. She has a lot of joy and pride being an aunt. Ira has a brilliant, inventive mind, and loves tinkering with tech. It seems that she especially enjoys experimenting with creating new types of weapons...

8f0acf94b85d6108dceed37f250ebc967aebec88.jpg

Najji – Father of the siblings
Najji is a protective, calm and street-smart person. He's an explorer and scavenger who brings in all sorts of tech, parts and other resources needed for Charvi and Ira to conduct their business. Although he loves his family, he has to spend a lot of time apart from them, making sure he can provide for all of them.

There is one additional person you should definitely meet as well.

Maya - Digital mind and companion
Maya is an artificial intelligence residing inside the gauntlets of the siblings. While we are familiar with AI, this is something they have not encountered before. Maya can see and hear everything the siblings can, and talks to them in a way that sounds just like a voice in their head. She’s there to help the ones who wear the gauntlets in any way they need, by making her calculated statements, analysis and can also interact with a lot of tech.

We hope this insight into the family dynamics has sparked your curiosity and deepened your connection with Coridden If you have any questions - we're more than happy to answer them!

Refining style, both in the combat and the city!
Greetings, Shifters! ✊

First off, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our alpha playtest. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into helping us improve the game ❤️ We've just turned off access to the alpha build, and we're currently compiling all the results. We'll be back with a summary of the playtests soon!

In the meantime, we've already started implementing changes inspired by your feedback and suggestions. We even uploaded a patch to the build last week! But that's not all—we've been hard at work throughout the entire month.

Here's a quick rundown of what we've been up to:

Combat Ready ️
Automatic Champions Placement

We've added "Champion" enemies. These tougher foes often have more abilities than their normal counterparts and can appear randomly on the map. You can tell them apart because of their blue outline.

➕ Added Wound Healing to Some Armor
Now, certain armors will grant health regeneration, helping you stay in the fight longer.

Dragolem Smashes Attackable Objects

️ Two-Handed Weapon Style Fighting

We've been working on improving animations and the overall feel for the Heavy/Two-handed weapon style. Our goal is to make these weapons feel more impactful and satisfying to use, making your combat experience better.

Eye Candy
⚡ More Clear When You Are Out of Energy

We've made it easier to notice when you're out of energy. However, we feel like there is more that we can do here, so let's say it's still a work in progress.

Improved Player Animation Syncing in Online Multiplayer
We have worked on improving the syncing of player animations in online multiplayer because the one we had so far left much to be desired.

Skills VFX Fixing and Improving
We've fixed and improved the visual effects for skills, making them look even cooler!

Finding Balance ⚖️
We've made adjustments to Skill and Energy Cost based on your feedback, and we'll be testing it out in the future.

Quilon Makeover ️
We'working on Quilon's look and layout. This is the direction we're going for:

Bug Fixing
We found and fixed a ton of bugs. It's a never-ending story, but the sooner we catch them, the better!
