Has anyone played this game?

Been enjoying it, except for the fact that my playgroup is pretty derpy and makes a LOT of very bad decisions diplomacy wise. I still usually end up winning as long as I have a decent alien/moderate luck, but I'm not sure how to politely explain to someone that constantly inviting others for invasions when they're at the same number of colonies or even ahead is just fucking retarded.

Yes, it's my all time favourite. It seems to take a while for the meta to settle with newer players, who tend to be in a rush to invite a lot of allies so everyone ends up on 4/5 waiting for one guy to get lucky, which kind of sucks. We only play double powers now, it's more exciting (vetted for OP combos).
