When you play the games in quick succession, the LGBT stuff is problematic for reasons other than "urrr no liberals" than some retards codexers make it to be.

I think DAO had some lesbian/gay/bi romances, I am not too sure about that, but I did not feel at all bothered by them. It felt like some knowing gay people, and you know, whatever bros, I don't have to have sex with you. They behaved like "normal" gay people.

Now, you still don't need to fuck the gay people in DAI and Mass Effect Andromeda, but something has changed in the way those romances were designed. A switch happened at some point : it is pretty clear in the design, in the character archetypes that some head honchos at Bioware saw the Bioware Social Forums, the fanfics, the Deviantarts, the super awkward part of the fanbase and decided that "hey, our gay romances should appeal to that crowd, those are the ones making the buzz about our game.".

As a result, just being in the same room than those people feels awkward. They are designed as sexual porn stars and talk like porn story characters. And you have to talk to them. Repeatedly. You have to stare at Iron Bull's nipples. All the time.

Mass Effect 1,2,3 handled it kinda okay, although it was a bit clumsy at point. I remembered when I reached Andromeda I was thinking a bit "what the hell?" ? That feeling was gone when I switched to DAO, started creeping in again with DA2 and is now at itchi.io charity bundle level with DAI.

It gives you the feeling of progressing slowly into something that has been designated for one special kind of people ; not the gay ones, not the liberals you guys seem to hate, but that awkward fringe fraction of the fanbase which seem to have their hand on the fate of the game.
As usual the LGBT influence gets exaggerated and Bioware games are no difference than RL

I always follow appropriate and available Romance arcs in all RPG I play. Romance in Bioware games is optional and its just a part of party interaction which you can easily ignore

I initiated Romance in all DA games, except for DA:I which I havent played yet, and all ME games and I had no issues with LGBT Romantic interests because its easy to say no and you wont get asked again

Anders in DA2 is a completely different person compared to his previous appearance, and his personality can be summed up as "I'M GAAAAAAAAAAAY!"
It's the first RPG I can think of that pushes sexuality & romances directly on you.

Even CAD managed to do a funny at the time -- with a comic he'd be raked over the coals for now:

DAI has no attractive straight women at all. Cassandra was purposely made to look like a man according to the artist himself.
they're purposely made ugly
compare cassandra in dragon age 2 vs dragon age inquisition, including the developer commentary regarding her design process

Mike Laidlaw on Cassandra in DA2:
And then, obviously, we wanted to make sure she was hot. To dial her to eleven, to make her absolutely gorgeous, really enticing—yet at the same time, she's powerful, she's strong, she's wearing platemail
Cassandra-Pentaghast.png
Casper Konefal on Cassandra in DA:I:
I just found beauty too subjective, too mushy too, too, well lets just say I didn't find it adequate ... Her face became all about her aggression. Through the angle of her facial structure to the angle of her ears. It all became about giving her a strong aggressive forward visual flow.

What about one of the greatest Romance arcs of all time, Isabella? Yes I know she is a bisexual option but I Romanced her as straight Romance and I dont remember any gay talk or similar things that seem to trigger people?

And I had Anders in my party and I only remember him hitting on me once and you just respond with something like " our relationship must be strictly professional " and he leaves you alone. He was openly gay but he doesnt hit on you the whole time unless you participate in it

At least, the memes on youtube will be entertaining and thus shutting the last nail in Bioware's coffin.

Bold of you to assume that EA will finally let thm have their final rest, and not perform some dark ritual of queeronecrogromancy on the putrid corpse that remain.

Characters in DA2 were Hawkesexual. If you played as a female Hawke then the male options were straight and the female options gay, with the opposite being true for male Hawke. I think Anders' history even shifted slightly with the gender of his friend in the Chantry changing to match Hawke's.

Hepler claimed that Anders always fucked that dude, but he just didn't feel it was necessary to tell a female Hawke that (thinking it'd put her off).

I think this isn't quite right. He specifically turns into a "depressed gay man" stereotype, whereas in Awakening he was a happy-go-lucky type, almost an Alistair clone. Many people complained about this at the time.

There's zero indication he's gay at all in DAO. He actually discusses having sex with women.

Their is a massive difference between heterosexual and homosexual and that wont change
Socially and emotionally, kind of. Practically as a type of relationship in society not so much. Gay couples are still pressured to have a monogamous relationship and rear children, i.e. be convenient in a heteronormative society. It's only when people start not being monogamous and not actively trying to emulate a nuclear family that the real fun begins. This doesn't really have much to do with whether it's a gay or straight relationship, everyone can be non-monogamous or not want children. So no, there isn't a huge practical difference between the two.

RE: Anders - you don't get any indication about his sexuality if you don't flirt with him as a man if I remember correctly. I'm 100% sure you can never find out that he and Karl were a thing if you are playing as a woman. Zevran is the only Bioware companion which is upfront about it and you can't avoid it. Developers are extremely careful not to alienate homophobes, so you have to actively search out gay content in games to find it. It's called the gay button, look it up.

EA was in no way responsible for what happened at Bioware. Even the 1 year development window could have been used for an origin expansion.
They even gave massive funds.
Bioware sabotaged itself.

Don't know, man. I've always killed him on sight and, so far, I've been avoiding it just fine.
You've missed out. DA:O has solid cast and Zevran is certainly an important part of it.
100% of Dorian's character is "my dad sent me to forced conversion therapy when I was younger".
He's kinda likable due to VO, the looks, pleasantly written dialogues etc but otherwise ^ this.

Console Licking Girl cameo in ME3 seems like an EA thing.
Biff McHuge character and bizzare promotion around him - seems like EA aiming for Gears of War crowd.
Didn't they have weird impossible plans for yearly Bioware releases?

I realize published are overbashed (Kotick was right about Schafer all along and we didn't listen), but there was some stereotypical "Evil EA" shit going on there.
I bet Roguey, knows all about it.
