We have just posted links to the newest version of Eschalon: Book I. This is version 1.05 and it addresses a few remaining bugs as well as improves stability. Both the demo and the full version are now updated to this latest version.

More information can be found in this forum post.

+ Game no longer crashes if you threaten to kill Gruzz.
+ Game no longer crashes if Siam attacks you.
+ Made a small change to the map_load function to hopefully reduce or eliminate the occasional error when the player is oddly positioned when loading a game.
+ Main menu (demo version) now has the updated purchase links.
+ NPCs and monsters should no longer get stuck off-screen.
If you own version 1.04 or earlier, please be aware that there will be no patch to bring your version up to 1.05. There are several reasons for this, but mainly because we are concerned that if you bought the game from Greenhouse, Direct2Drive, or Reflexive, you would break your copy trying to patch it. Besides, most of these fixes are already in place in these other distributor's versions.

So, if you bought the game from us and you want the latest version, please send us an email with your Plimus order number (or your name and email address) and we can activate a new download link for you to get the full 1.05 install.

That seems unnecessarily involved. Still, if any of those affected you, download patch from here.

In other Eschalon news, you can download some sample music from Eschalon 2.

Thanks asper!

As always, the music is incredibly impressive for an indie title.
Really, it flows well and sets the scene nicely. Overall, it gives the impression of a nice, soft, outdoors type feeling or a town. Seamless, I must say. And it flows into itself nicely, no choppiness or jumpy sensations, like something amateurish you might find someplace on a fan page or something. This music is truly impressive, and more importantly, immersive. As far as the game goes, I've gotta say, I do enjoy them very much, tho that in and of itself might be simply because it is an indie title and I have a strong admiration for such individuals which might cloud my judgment otherwise. I look forward to this game's timely release, as well as the improvements that are being touted about on it's webpage.
