Hmm...that actually looks kinda nifty. Price isn't high either though I've never used Direct2Drive or that other one before.

Can't help but think this is one of those games that would fit in well on GoG for some reason.

Thanks for the heads up on this, now I'm also curious what people think on this.

I tried the demo when it was first released, and thought it was utter crap. The plot seemed silly, and combat wasn't even remotely fun. Ugly graphics too.

Forget the $10...this thing is $6 NEW on some Amazon sellers. At that price, I do believe I may well take the plunge...

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
:necro:

It looks like there are plans or whatever to put this on Steam:

There is a demo for NextFest but it doesn't seem to be accessible from the store page. You have to find it in the NextFest carousel, hover over the image and click the "install demo" button from there to get the demo.

I'm not sure what the "20th anniversary" version fixes though, the videos seem to still use an old codec that isn't compatible with Proton out of the box (might work with Proton-GE or wine with the microsoft codecs, but i didn't tried), the video modes are limited to 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 and... in the tutorial i managed to break the game by trying to walk somewhere (you right click to walk) that would require the character to turn around some object to avoid some building but instead the character tried to walk over the building and was launched to space - but didn't fall down, just hovering above the entire city.

It looks mainly action oriented but it also seems to have a bunch of "stuff" you can do and upgrade, though i judge this mainly from the convoluted UI :-P. There is also a TON of text, right out of the box there were like 20+ documents in your PDA (or whatever) to read (which i didn't) and the story seems weird to say the least.

Graphics look fine for 2003 IMO, but in general like that late 90s / early 2000s sci-fi graphics style.
