Next Generation has posted a 4-page long Fallout 3 preview:

For the rabid fans of the PC-native Fallout series, the unveiling of Fallout 3 ranks up there with some of the biggest gaming events in recent memory. The fact that a proven developer like Bethesda is handling the game is simply thick icing on an already cavity-inducing cake. ... Running on an advanced version of the engine used for Bethesda’s freeform masterpiece Oblivion... . So it’s established that Bethesda has always been a fan of the series...
Easy on the hype, mister.

Overall, Bethesda promises Fallout 3 to be even more character-driven than Oblivion.
That's impossible!

In typical Bethesda fashion, however, you also have the option to spare Megaton and its residents.
Typical Bethesda fashion?

“Violence done well is f**kin’ hilarious, so we embrace it,” says Howard...
Someone should put a leash on him.

“Destruction is the new trees,” Howard proclaims. Gone are the lush, expansive lands of Oblivion’s provinces. These are replaced by charred land and scorched cars that can explode if shot.
A true Fallout trademark.

I remember the days when Fallout was a "dead license" for a "low selling game". I can still remember Saint's argument that sales were "good for its time" while some retard was saying nobody played it and it wasn't a success. It's funny how things change.
