Seems RPG'ers favour direct download sites over retail outlets? If you're one of those who got Drakensang, you might also like to check out Ergo's Fan-Made Fixpack at RPGWatch.

From the game lists it looks like retail sales are dominated by 'casual gaming' (i.e. the Sims), whereas gamers dedicated to traditional genres (RTS, RPG, mmorpg, FPS etc) are more likely to buy online. Makes sense - the purchases are less likely to be impulse-buys, and the gamers are more likely to play multiplayer online, hence are more likely to have a good net-connection and shop online.

Nice to see how the Total War games are that far up. At least strategy gaming is not dead yet. And yeah agree with Azrael, the people who buy online prefer to buy real games instead of casual stuff.

Finally, NPD acknowledges online sales. About time.

The guys that produced BattleForge should be familiar to you, because they produced the top rated RPG/RTS hybrids called SpellForce.

Their name is EA-Phenomic BTW.

The list is a copy-paste from ShackNews BTW. Also you fail at quote and why would I know anything about BattleForge?
