Story-Based Multiplayer essentially lets players give context to their multiplayer games. No more meaningless deathmatches. Players will be able to create scenarios that can be as simple or complex as they wish. It’s the best way for modders to get their content out there in meaningful multiplayer experiences that everyone can enjoy. It’s also a way for those who aren’t into the mod scene to get their shot at the limelight without devoting weeks of their life.

Um, yeah.

I really like the new game. Sure it's just more of the same, but that's not a bad thing in FF's case. And I really dig the new engine. It's very nice looking without causing too much of a hit on the performance of the first game as far as low-end systems go, and it allows for alot more interaction with the game environment. Having moving cars is nice too, even though you can really screw with the pathfinding AI on them. :P

I downloaded the demo and played that. However, I wasn't impressed. Combat just seemed a messy pause, point, and click affair. The comic asides did seem clever and amusing, but thats not enough to buy a game if you don't find the core amusing.

It's too bad both the original and the sequel do NOT exist in Kananda. I surely haven't seen it. The game must really suck if one cannot even find it!

Yeah, they chose a pretty crappy level for the demo. The person who did that should be shot, IMO. Any one of the first few levels would have been a waaaay better choice.

What are you talking about? Freedom Force 1 isn't so hard to find and vtTR is a new release and can be found more or less anywhere.

I was quite clear. The games do not exist. At least not where Imlive in my EB tends to carry even the most obscure games - heck, it even has copies of the Fallouts in stock. R00fles!

So, Fuck Freedom Force! Fuck it to Hell!

I love it, though, I think they could've done more with it. It feels more like a quick follow-up than a true sequel, which is strange, considering how long it's been since the last game. Perhaps the game was put on the backburner once or twice, as they worked on Tribes: Vengeance and Swat 4?

Anyway, Sky King is muh new favorite hero.

Well, my local EB doesn't carry the more obscure games, and it sure as hell still has FF; though I haven't checked recently for the sequel.
NZ is much more of a backwater than Canada I would have thought.

Volourn is exaggerating. Canadians get in on the US release of, well, anything, be it games, movies, books, TV or any whatsit or gewgaw. Volourn's just unlucky and a whiner.

And having finished FFvtTR just now, brief thoughts: kickass game for all the same reasons as the first time around, but a bit short.

No. No exaggeration. North Bay tends to get all the releases yet somehow FF never showed up here. Coinicidence or just that it sucks and isn't worthy of shelf space? I'll take the latter until proven otherwise; but since I can't seem to find it here; I guess the proof will never come.

LOL

My thoughts exactly. I was pleased however that it didn't end right when I thought it was going to. That would have really pissed me off. I'm not too worried with the length as is though simply because you know there's going to be mods galore once the talented folk at Freedom Fans get their hands dirty.

I'm sorry for asking, but do you have to pay money like to a MMORPG to use the multiplayer, a shop here in Sweden says it is 15$ a month to play it over the internet and I haven't seen anyone deny it yet.

Stock standard reply everyone's heard a million times:
It has aspects in it that are common to roleplaying games (character dev etc), but not actual "roleplaying". Therefore, while strictly not an RPG, it will be of interest to those who play RPGs.

Disclaimer1: this is what I gather from others' posts. I haven't played it myself.
Disclaimer2: I realise that (like almost everything you post) you posted this to get a rise. One day I shall learn not to respond.

Buzz. It's a almost honest question to a almost honest topic. The Codex is about RPG Codex. We have Big Wigs tm. of the Codex ala Exitium and Spazmo both syaing while FF is a FUN game; it's not really a RPG yet the R P G C O D E X is covering it in news. Like I said, a fair question.

I'm pretty sure I covered that. People who are into RPGs might be interested in it. How many other ways does this have to be said.
I like CRPGs, but I still want to hear about peripheral subjects such as games that have aspects commonly seen in RPGS. This (to me) applies to even fps games like Deus Ex and SS1/2. Or even strategy titles like Disciples or HOMM.

And this subject has been bought up by you (and others?) umpteen times already, so my conclusion is that - yes, this was just another attempt to get a rise out of "Big Wigs tm".

Edit: oh, and if is arguable about whether FFvTTR is an rpg or not, then it is definitely worth posting as news on a CRPG site.

Huh? To my knowledge, this is the first time I've posted wondering why the Codex has decided to post it as news. It surely hasn't been upteen times so why are you lying?
