Sometimes game genre is born but that fact may have not been noticed for quite a long time. Guyz, any ideas?

I've been playing the helluva Spider-Man games (and finished so many especially last year) and besides 1-on-1 fighting games, beat'em ups, 2D platform games etc., some of them deserves to be put into very specific subgenre. I'll call it just Spider-Man simulator. To make Spider-Man simulator you need to merge open world with complex web-swinging mechanics and you reach ultimate Spider-Man experience that 2D or linear titles lacked. S-M simulator games so far:

Spider-Man 2 (2004 console version NOT PC)
Ultimate Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man (2018)
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Spider-Man 2 (2023, haven't played that one but it's obvious that it belongs here)

Almost none at all. This is how really stupid terms like character action (popularized by Giantbomb) originate. They're just action games.

Genres are supposed to be broad and we had enough 30 years ago. We don't need a new one every time mfs are too lazy to describe in sentences what you do in the game exactly.

Yeah, was going to say, just making up a blanket term usually doesn't give you enough information anyway. Explain the game if "action" is not specific enough.

Yahtzee Croshaw has done three of those:

Jimminy Cockthroat = Used to describe bland, open-world, crafting survival games that only includes the aforementioned mechanics and features as a mean to drag out the player's playtime, thus making the game boring and chore-like (Assassin’s Creed Clones)

Spunkgargle Weewee = Used to describe overly linear first person shooters that emphasize a basic story, overly dramatic cutscenes and/or setpieces designed to be more of a spectacle rather than a challenge to the player (CoD Clones)

Ghost Train Ride = Used to describe action games that are a repetitive sequence of three elements - expository sections ("The Queue"), spectacular but rigid set pieces ("The Thrill") and some token gameplay which is often dull ("The Gift Shop") (Uncharted Clones)
