There's Halo Master Chief Collection that brings rest of the games previously unavailable on PC. Same thing is happening with Gyros of Waaah but slow.
Both kings of popamole degeneracy. I remember trying PC version of GoW1 and had less troubles with Games for Windows Live than Steam. huh

Tried to return to the industry and make a deal with Microsoft to make more GoW products. But it panned for some reasons...
Which is weird because various Xbox accounts (officialy run, not fan made) dropped some hints about potential interest with new GoW game(s).
Tried Gears of War 5 - not bad, not great. It does prove that you can get decent GoW game without the OG creator.

GoW didn't invent stick cover, but it did invent pop-a-mole. When Everything or Nothing had the sticky cover Gears did, two years and a console generation before GoW released, having to slowly pop-a-mole with enemies in cover was the punishment for going slowly and letting the enemies have long enough to get in cover. Almost all of them could be eliminated before they took cover if you played well. When Second Sight had it two years before that, it was about using the game's mechanics (psy powers, manual aim, etc.) to counter the enemy's use of it while timing it so you weren't exposed yourself while doing it: Enemy cover was never perfect, just effective.
