Hark the Ghoul!

A damp, dark victorian city sits under a starless sky. Its citizens, mad with desire, claw at the earth, hopping to dig up shreds of amber.

Beneath the city lie lands untold. Darkness, teeming with unimaginable horrors and fantastic creatures. And deep within, a glint draws the eye.

Before you start bullying me because this is another dark souls inspired indie rpg with PSX graphics, hear me out. This one is definitely worth checking out and deserves a thread, i think.
About the game:
-You play as some weird insect looking ghoul who wields a melee weapon in one hand and a gun in another.
-There are different backgrounds to choose. Not sure if there is effect on stats but it does as advertised affects dialogue. I picked a militant background and NPCs refered to me as officer, blacksmith was even grumbling about how milita preferes guns to a good old-fashioned swords nowadays.
-You can kick stuff but it's not that strong against enemies and there is no convinent wall spikes all over the place. You can however kick stuff like boxes and stones that deal damage on impact. Exploding barrels too obviously.
-It's a very exploration heavy game with quite sizable interconnected world. Plenty of secrets and goodies to find, at the end of 2 hour long demo i was told that i missed two unique items.
-For melee weapons i only found the chain whip that can pull obejcts towards yourself in addition to your starting bone sword. Weapon upgrades affect their look.
-For ranged there is a regular starting gun with high ammo count, arquebus that hits harder but doesn't have as much ammo and cannon with splash damage that oneshots regular enemies.
-You can throw eyball that sets ground on fire
-There is magic like heal spell that takes a long time to cast and wind spell that lets you jump really high and explore more areas.
-Instead of a torch or light spell you have "summon a glowing rock" spell.

-You can save only at bonfire sapling where you can also purchase perks. Nothing to write home about it except that Jump height is useful.

-You're not penalised heavily for dying and respawning at the sapling. Enemies also respawn upon using sapling.
-While not a baby mode the demo was overall on the easier side. It's more of an explorefag game than a combatfag one.
Definitely one the better games from the latest Steam Next Fest.

Dark Souls? Style reminds me of King's Field, Dark Messiah and maybe Avowed.

Poor choice of words on my part, by "Dark Souls inspired" i mostly meant visuals and bonfire thingie.
It is indeed more of a Dark Messiah/King's Field-like game.
