Lol, original release was late October 2023, so people only have to wait one year and three months to play a Sony first party PS5 exclusive on PC.

Here's hoping that modders fix the DEI crap and turn Nigger Morales white, not because I want to play the game, but because I want to see the epic shitstorm it would cause.

With it being the same city that you already spent so much time in, rendered again, with basically the same gameplay from the first, what's the draw?

There are now even more niggers, faggots and pajeets than in the previous one.
It's set in USA.
Should have sent him to a tall city in another country for vacation. Or Manhattan in a parallel universe where the city plan is totally different. SOMETHING to make the environments different.

People are already reporting crashes and poor performance even with 4070s.
And I remember the Insomniac files said they spent something north of 10 million porting the first game to PC (remember this is the same studio that managed to spend more on a standalone expansion pack than the original game). I wonder if this recent trend of the Sony PC ports being awful is
A: They're still spending millions to make ports but are still fucking them up
B: They went cheaper but failed to pass minimum standards.
Because either one is horrible and hilarious to watch.

I have a 4080 super, a 7800x3d and 32GB of RAM. The game crashes at completely random intervals, but it happened the most often during a cutscene or right after a cutscene when it's supposed to transition back into gameplay. Thankfully, I didn't buy this game.

The funny thing is I hear the Brazilian unofficial PC port has less crashes.

The port of the previous game was shitty as well - game would randomly crash or performance would degrade and require a restart after some time. They added a ton of rendering options in patches but never addressed the stability (or it even got worse).

Yep, the randos who made the Brazil port on a volunteer basis using leaked data did a better job at optimizing than the official version and have an excuse for any issues just by being unofficial. I don't know if that says more about Nixxes or Insomniac.

Another PS5 DEI "bestseller" slamdunk like Horizon.

Which is "only" slightly better than Days Gone, ultimately considered a surprising success. Still garbage compared to the original's 66,093 all time peak (especially considering the budget was way, way more than the original).

As much as I'd love to make "make less than half the game about Peter, get less than half the sales" quips, I do have to wonder how much is due to the sheer negative word of mouth the game (rightfully) got and how much is the port being a trashfire.

Didn't the Insomniac leak say the PC port of the first game cost 10 mil? It better be a good port for that kind of dough. Now the question is if they made a trashfire despite all the money, or if Sony decided it could cheap out and failed.

So I finished this over the weekend, I had previously also played the 1st one, and have played other spiderman games.
My personal favourite is web of shadows.

The game is ok, I would not spend full price on it for sure.

The combat is a bit generic for my tastes, it feels like I've seen this type of combat in 100s of other games.

The story started off good, but became dissapointing with a few spikes up here and there. The biggest issue is it feels too rushed. If no one knew, this story is set around the venom stuff. The suit build up and usage felt too rushed I thought. Then the final act felt far too rushed also. It was only about 20 hours long, quite short for such a caliber of a game I feel, and I wasn't even rushing, sometimes doing side stuff.

There's your usual character switching as well here, sometimes you have to play as the retarded marry jane, and it's handled very badly (can take on squads of highly trained soldiers/aliens). There's only 4 relatively short parts though, so you can easily enough crank down the difficulty, and just walk past everything quickly. Still annoying though, and can be pretty hard if you can't ignore this crap.

Mechanically the suit was pretty dissapointing, it didn't actually add that much, just a "rage" mode that you have to fill up by beating guys up. They should have done at leasta +50% damage, +50 max hp, a passive hp regen, and maybe like +20% increased swing speed/movement.

The best part about this game is the swinging, not sure if you could do on consoles, but here they added a way to disable the assist, so you can mostly free form swing. At first I kept getting stuck on floors and other stuff, but eventually I got the hang of it. They've also added in a few more areas, in the previous game there was only the main island one, now they added the eastern part, and a small like jungle or forest over in some north island.
They've also expanded the mobility with wing gliding, they should have not included the "air currents" that allow you to fly really fast in a straight line for a while.
Also they included fast travel? No real point though since swinging is the whole point of this game. I'm saddened they haven't included more races/chases as well.

There aren't a lot of activities outside of the main story. There's only 2 (short) side stories, and one side story in particular does not make sense (carnage tease).

Overall, web of shadows still remains to be the best.

Could have done a Driver: Parallel Lines type same city in different eras. Have Peter in the 90s/early 2000s (a "new" city) and Mayday in the present (reusing using the existing city. MC2 was set in the present and shifted everything from the "main" canon into the past), or do Shattered Dimensions style where Miguel is in 2099's grim cyberpunk future New York. Could also do something like Inferno or Battleworld (which, remember, is Venom's first appearance) that radically transforms New York.

The problem is, of course, those wouldn't let them try to build up Miles by tearing down Peter.

Does this game have a bunch of pride flag, like the first game? If so, you guys now what to do?
