Hey there,
was just looking at the IRC instructions.

Perhaps you should mention the wonderful free and fully featured Windows version of xchat available at silverex.
XChat is my preferred client, but most Windows users mistakenly belive that they have to get the non-free version from xchat.org (the Linux version is free); when there is this wonderful cutting-edge free version availalble (and frequently updated).

Oh, and maybe an IRC "push" is in order. We have some rejoining members, and despite the influx of Beth 'tards, there are some new people who are genuinely trying to add to the mix.

Edit:
Shit, 5 users in #rpgcodex. When I was a regular we got enuff there to have decent conversations goddamit. Oh me and Fez used to make fun of pompous so-and-sos. How I miss those days..

I've kinda gone off IRC for a while now.

But it's also great to get on every now and then, and find that I STILL have ops in #fallout, and since I own #rpgcodex, I guess I can't be suprised that I haven't be ousted there either.

Problem with #rpgcodex, is that there's hardly anyone there, and it's sort of hit and miss as to whether you'll be able to strike up a conversation.

We need to change that.

Start your IRC clients, folks. Point them at #rpgcodex on irc.gamesurge.net

rpgcodex is always dead, so I tend to log on to #fallout. Even #fallout3 when that was the cool thing to do. Either way, both rooms seem pretty dead whenever I go inside : \

Yeah, #fallout is pretty much also deadish now, and most regulars moved to #hellgatelondon.

Yeah, #fallout was where people tended to go to talk, but for a short while there #rpgcodex gained some critical mass. There is nothing to say that it can't again.

As for #hellgatelondon, people do tend to talk there (inc the fallout crowd); but there are also some emo wankers I couldn't be bothered with.

Given the number of new and old on this forum at the moment I'm surprised #rpgcodex hasn't re-ignited. I guess there is too much apathy.

I'll occasionally log onto IRC, but either Rex is in #fallout so I leave (because any conversation that even vaguely involves Rex is futile) or there's just nobody talking so... I... leave. Besides, all that actually happens now on IRC is pretty much

Heh.

Actually, yesterday kingcomrade joined us, and though there was some inkling of those kind of conversations, we soon turned to a chat on "how awesome Star Control 2 is" (started and guided by llamagod), and all was good.

We all downloaded the version that runs natively in Windows and had a merry old wank over how good it was.
