Numen is an upcoming YAARPG (Yet Another Action RPG) from Russian mobsters Akella. We don't seem to have covered it before (either that or my search skills have failed me) but there's a new article up about some of the locations in the game. Here's a carefully selected quote chosen based on the Codex' advanced computer algorithms:

These are the exotic places we hope will make the players believe they are navigating through ancient Greece, and give them a visual of what ancient Greece may have actually been like.

But sill, we wanted more. We felt that having the players explore just those areas would not be enough to keep their interest for very long. That’s why we allowed for them to explore the northern part of the Dark Continent – Africa. All of those rolling dunes of sand scattered with the bones of giant animals, savage warriors, and lost caravans will prove to be a completely different experience to the gamer.

The same can be said for the high mountaintops. There, close to the Gods, where it never ceases to snow, and only the howling of the wolves and distant horns can be heard, the brave ones go to pay homage to the their dead in cold caves and tombs.

If you want the run-down on the game:

Numen is a third-person RPG that will plunge the player deep into the amazing world of Greek mythology, the realm of almighty gods, brave heroes, fabulous creatures and great deeds.

Featuring an engaging storyline, the game takes the player on a path from a weak, naive youth to a legendary hero, who fights in the name of his or her chosen deity.

There is a devoted hero for each of the gods, but in the end, only one will prevail.

Variety of weapons and combo moves to use and master

Sounds very :Sacred 2: You can find some more screenshots over on GamersHell.
