Long live the new flesh!
I find some of the dialog even more amusing. I'd always put this one idiotic character in my group. He sounded like Barney from the kids show. The other mercenaries hated him, much to my amusement.

No gameplay outside combat (if you can call the non-combat stuff in JA2 gameplay; I can) and less options in combat. Combat depth is about the same as Fallout games, except you control a party, and that you can destroy walls etc. I last played it again two years ago, I think. Everything about the game still holds up pretty good to this day. Nothing like "amazing how people could take this clunky stuff back then", be it interface or combat mechanics. So you should play it.

The standalone add-on is uninteresting though. If you find yourself craving for more tactical challenges after you're done with JA, you should give it a try nonetheless.
