Hi all. I'm an independent game developer, currently working on a roguelike iphone game called 100 Rogues (which you can read about in this Gamasutra article:
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=24717 ).

I just wanted to say first "hi" to you guys, as I just discovered this site. Loving it a lot so far - it feels really good to know there are some like-minded people out there. Reading IGN and GameSpot, it's easy to feel like you're going crazy.

Anyway, I also wanted to show you guys my design blog, called Expensive Planetarium. I have tons of articles on there but a few that might interest you guys as RPGers are:

"Complexity Requires Challenge" (about the relationship between challenge and complexity)
http://expensiveplanetarium.blogspot.com/2008/11/complexity-and-challenge.html

"The Most Overpowered Weapon Ever Wielded" (about Quicksave / Quickload)
http://expensiveplanetarium.blogspot.com/2008/11/most-overpowered-weapon-ever-wielded.html

"Game Shame" (about games being ashamed of being games)
http://expensiveplanetarium.blogspot.com/2008/11/game-shame.html

Anyway, thank you for reading this post and please don't take this as a blatant self promotion (even though it is). I just have a lot of ideas and I'd like to share them with you smart people and get some feedback and start a discussion or two.

Thanks again,
-Keith

For some reason he's saying all this as if they were a bad thing.

I dig the skeleton with tits and eyelashes.

What tools do you use to create this game?

We're using Cocos2d and the iPhone SDK, since it's an iPhone game. Ya, everyone seems to love the Skellyman Scoundrel!

Actually we're going into beta pretty soon. If you guys wanna check our game out, go to http://www.dinofarm-games.com

Thanks,
-Keith
