Adventure game, heavy on the puzzle a la myst. Eastern European influence/setting/developer (one or more of the three). Theme is clockwork automation: not exactly steampunk, but some type of alternate past where clockwork devices are prominent. If I recall, the opening scene is in an office of some sort that resembles a train station, hotel desk or perhaps telegraph office. The plot involves your father having been an inventor, perhaps? Of said clockwork stuff? The feel of the opening sequence in the aforementioned office was of a deserted area, with only the clockwork puzzles/devices to interact with.
