FiringSquad reports that Nival may be in a bit of trouble with their failed attempt at entering the console next-gen market, which is leading their parent company - Ener1Group - into restructuring the outfit:
FiringSquad has leared that Russian based game developer Nival Interactive is in the midst of a restructuring ordered by its American owner Ener1. In speaking over the phone with the company's executive vice-president Curtis Wolf today, he told us that Ener1 was not going to sell Nival but was in the middle of reorganising the game developer. Ener1 bought Nival in early 2005 and in March 2006 generated a lot of media attention when it was announced that it had hired former Microsoft Xbox third party head Kevin Bachus as Nival's new CEO and had launched a Los Angeles office to expand Nival's development into next-gen console games along with their previous PC titles. Today Wolf confirmed to us that the Los Angeles office had closed and that Kevin Bachus had departed as Nival's CEO in late 2006. After leaving Microsoft's Xbox division Bachus co-founded the now defunct Capital Entertainment Group and just before joining Nival was the CEO behind the infamous Infinium Labs, which tried and failed to launch the Phantom Game Service. There is no word on where Bachus is currently employed. Wolf would not comment on the circumstances surrounding the LA office shut down or Bachus's departure. He added that announcements of Nival's new plans would be made in the future.
Maybe they should look into the same dumpster where Herve Caen is living in. I hear it's all the rage these days for inept company managers.

This has the appearance of being good news... at least the bit about ending their consoles ventures.

I have the sinking suspicion that it may end more than their console ventures.
