[ Game -> Interview ]

PlanetCivilization has posted an interview they did recently with Soren Johnson from Firaxis, who worked on the superduper Civilization 4.

Here's an interesting bit:

Can you tell me anything about Sid's next project?

Soren Johnson (Firaxis):
We have a bunch of games in the making. We were just acquired by Take2, and that's opened up some extra resources for us. Sid has been open about the fact that he has been taking a look at the next generation of consoles. Coming back to the complexity issue, the console games are becoming a little more ambitious, so Sid is becoming interested. I of course can't talk about anything specific now.

We're also looking into some older pieces of IP that Sid has, that people were fans of in the past and that we might re-develop in the future. We're also talking about some brand new original PC strategy games that are fresh. We're probably going to be developing a couple of these at the time. Should be an exciting time for Firaxis.

Coming soon - Alpha Centauri: Ghost.
Fucking consoles.

You know, an update of Alpha Centauri would be good.

A console version however, would be bad.

Pirates! would work pretty well on a console, though I'm not saying I would like to see it there. Sid, just stick to the PC mang.

We should get a dev chat on IRC or something going so we don't have to bitch about stupid interviews.
