IGN interviews Mike Dismukes of Rogue Dao Studios about their upcoming mod Purgatorio for NWN2:

I see testing is underway. How soon until the Vault announces that you are opening the gates to Purgatorio?

We are still debating about the best way to handle this. As anyone who has built a mod can tell you, it gets harder to work on the closer that you get to the end. Right now I’m thinking that we should do an extended playtest release and continue to refine the module rather than try to make it all perfect and release it much later. I would like to set the first group of five playtesters loose on the streets of Sigil in about a month. I’m not ready to make any predictions about a public release date yet.

This project looks to be promising and hopefully it can satisfy the legions of rabid Planescape fans.

Their list of achievements looks very impressive:
1) Tilesets: Mechanus, the Mortuary and the Gatehouse, 2) over 100 new monster, placeable and building models, 3) fifteen-plus new music compositions, 4) a random encounter system, 5) about 50 new VFX effects, 6) a massive critical plot with 6 followers to choose from in the eleven regional hubs of the city, 7) a ton of high end voice acting with an in-game cant dictionary, 8) a new UI skin, 9) new prestige classes and 10) new playable races

Also:
It’s around 150 areas and about 4.5GB right now.

Needless to say, I can't wait for this one.

I'm not too knowledgable with the modding stuff for NWN2, but do these kinds of mods work with others such as Kaedrin's PRC stuff?

Wow, sounds more like an expansion than a mod. Since I'm playing through NWN2 OC and MotB again right now I just hope I'm not sick of D&D and the engine for a year again...

Sounds like their trying to perfect it to such an extent that will become vapourware.

And to think that, unlike Mysteries of Westgate, this will be distributed for free. Huh.

This should be the great. I really hope the have "big" areas ala Witcher and not ala NWN2/MoTB, even with long loading times. I'm a bit worried there won't be any exploration, and it will be a linear ride...

But it looks great. Should be an Adventure Pack so the modders can get some cow.
