It's out now. To tell the truce I'm a bit disappointed the champing mode is too easy, you got too much money every turn even whit the poorest factions.

(pardon my english, I'm notnative speaker)

Have just started playing it for the last two days. Seems another great step forward, the map now goes all the way to India, more factions, tons of new fun units, a new base system and the AI bitchslaps me quite often. Still, there's some stuff I don't like at the moment. Cavelery is slow and very vulnareble, they even get butchered in hand to hand with archers....seems a bit too nerved to me. Also units don't always respond as well as they did in vanilla rtw, especially with units that chase routers. Still, it's fun and free. It'll tide me over untill the barbarian invasion expansion.

Oh yes, I can't wait for those nightfights either. I can't imagine prefering the expansion over RTR. If only CA wasn't so restrictive on modders, then we could see some far superior stuff. It's just more satisfying knowing that the game actually resembles the reality of the time period, instead of the anachronistic Imperial legionaiires in 250 BC.
