I've used both and they both suck but MV is better.
MV has more support and features plus JavaScript was a much needed change from Python.

As in, there's a point paying thrice as much? Available assets, readability, usefulness, differences between XP and MV and so on?

They both go on sale pretty frequently.
Yes, MV has more features, assets and plugins easily accessible.

Neither. The best ever RPG Maker game (Black Souls I & II) was done in RPG Maker VX, therefore that is what you should be using.

VX is better than XP but it still has the major shortcoming of using Python over JavaScript.

Sorry I forgot that VX uses Ruby not Python. It's been many years since I've used the program.

JavaScript has a way bigger community that you can pull help from. This alone is a massive advantage but on top of that JavaScript is easier to learn and will give you better performance for game loops and rendering.

So, I'm picking MV. Is it possible for me to create a coherent product by using the programme alone, having no experience and not wanting to code?

Both games look kind'a fun but Gjallarhorn is obv. better.

EDIT: MZ is the most current RPGMaker and that is the one that allows ARPG creation, that's what I chose in the end.

XP is my favorite. I do not like the new ones graphics.

Graphics shouldn't be a deciding factor because if you are seriously making something you should definitely not be using the default assets.

I'm not sure how signatures appear on Tapatalk. Does it not look similar to the normal signatures used on the site?

You already have those two lines in your forum signature.

On my iphone, I can't normally see signatures. The posts also have no html link to where they are hosted. I can search on STEAM or google I guess.

And I just found out if i tilt my phone sideways they show. Go figure.

You should work with Gahbreeil and adapt your rat war saga into a JRPG.

I'm not sure a game could ever express the absolute anguish, rage, and insanity of the rat war. I haven't even written a book.
