Hah. Looks a bit like an infinity engine game. Might give it a go when I have more free time, I'm aching for some weird shit and point n' click adventuring.

If it's at GoG, it should run on Win7. It's a requirement that all games run on Vista there, so win7 ought to work by extension, being mostly Vista-based.

Yeah, from afar the screenshots look vaguely PS:T-ish, which I suppose is no surprise.

Years ago I ran into a game-stopping bug with changing the records in some later chapter - they were unclickable. I had to send my save to a friend, who did what should've been done and sent it back. I wonder if they fixed this...

I finished that chapter yesterday, there was nothing wrong with records (I have GoG version).

It's a great game.
I do hate the musical puzzle, though. I just couldn't do that without a walkthrough.

Great game. Definitely in my top-ten list of the best adventure games.

I played the demo first to be sure, but I get fucked up, multicolored sprites on the main character. How can I solve this?

That sounds like a graphic card issue. Try turning down hardware acceleration. If that doesn't work maybe updating drivers but it's a long shot. Maybe it's a demo problem, you could check out the "full" demo from the internetz.
